As a resident on the outskirts of the Caribbean Island of Jamaica,Alu led a quiet life not by choice but rather by his beliefs in the highly illegal Jamaican shamanism form known as Obeah,having great knowledge in both forms of the witchcraft he could use his practices for both good and evil.

One day while under a spell he recieved a contact from a wandering spirit,this source claimed to have escaped from the clutches of sorcerer named Shang Tsung after the defeat of a "deadly alliance",but further more saw an impending doom brewing which would put many realms in a do-or-die position,Alu tried to keep in contact with this spirit but with no luck.

Acting on what information he accumulated,Alu wanted to learn more of this supposed event,Alu tried to contact with other spirits or higher beings through his rituals,after months of attempts he contacted with a spirit by the name of Liu Kang,who was very familiar with these happenings and guided Alu to all the knowledge he was seeking

After gaining this knowledge Alu was not contempt with this lurking danger and knew that his sorcery in witchcraft could help those in dire need and also serve punishment to those who are behind this do-or-die situation
