yeah, this is my first post, and i might be flamed or called a n00b, whatever, its fine with me.

but ive been reading and looking in this forum for a while now. ive been seeing things like this in regards to combos and what people would want to do, usually they will say something like this:

i hope this move is a good starter for a 4, b+3, 3, 2, 2

i am just wondering, what do all those numbers mean? i like MK alot, but i dont really play fighting games enough, or competatively to know what this exactly means.

They respond to button presses. In old-school terms, it'd be like putting: LK, B+LP, LP, HP, HP. wink

Low kick, back and low punch, low punch, high punch, high punch. Etc.

It can all be explained in the MK:DA handbook and strategy guide. Like Bezou said, it is the same meanings as HK, LK, HP, and LP. It is not hard to get used to. I thought myself that this new way of commands would be hard to get used to, but after 15 minutes it becomes second nature. Oh and BTW welcome!

Renaming the four attack buttons was necessary because all the attacks vary now in type, angle, direction, height, etc. They couldn't simply be called High Punch or Low Kick anymore, so they gave them numerical denominations. Like what has already been said above, you get used to it very fast. Welcome to the board!
