Rayden could be punished by the Elder Gods for interfere so many times in the fate of the mortals.
The Elder Gods just watch the realms, but Raiden already fight many times, risking all.

after playing MKD,my love and respect for raiden increased ten fold.raiden is my most favorite MK character;always have,always will be.i love just about every single thing about raiden in this game;his hat,his armor,his cape,etc.but the ONLY thing that irks me about him is that he's wearing sandals in both his costumes.
i also love raiden's storyline and i don't blame him for killing shujinko.cuz like he said,the fact that shujinko killed onaga doesn't justify the fact that he let himself be deceived and put all existence at risk just for personal glory.

Raiden is not dark, evil, good, or neutral. He is a Democrat. (the political party that is based off a low form of Communism) If you don't believe that, then think as Raiden as the Old Testament God. If you mess up once your dead.
That's just about the dumbest plot test I have ever heard. Now Raiden will most likely kill all the Heroes because Lui Kang started this by winning the Mortal Kombat Tournament.
And Shujinko did not die, you just suppose it because he was getting electrocuted in the picture. It never said he died in the words, it just said that mortals who put Earthrealm in harms way would pay with their lives.
It will end up the same way Star Wars did. Raiden will electrocute Shujinko who will be on the ground screaming, then Darth Vader(any MK character) will pick up Raiden and throw him into the Death Star Core(off the mountain).

Exactly, we don't really know if raiden is "evil". He was ferrered to in one of the production art's as "evil raiden" but throught conquest he is just dark raiden. His storyline IMO doesn't seem to hint at him being evil, in fact his primary objective is still "protecting earthrealm" this time it is at any cost, and it basically means he's just real pissed off and is going to be active instead of passive in protecting it.
I think raiden is still allies with Lui kang and Kung Lao because they basically gave their life trying to defend the ralms, and never had intended to win Mortal Kombat for personal gain, so I think raiden is buddy buddy with them, and really most of the earthrealm warriors.
BTW, raiden has some crazy fatalities.

I love Rayden, he is one of the top original characters of Mk, I wouldn’t like him to die.
I do admit though, it would be an amazing twist, BUT, I would had probably accepted that before MKD. I just love the new personality he has been given!

Its like the attack he used in the opening movie against the Dragon King that 'killed' himself, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. So in a sense it is a suicide-fatality. I wish they kept that line where Quan Chi asks, 'What are you doing?' and Raiden responds, 'You don't want to know.'
