I'm finished with this. I've pre-ordered MK:D on PS2 from play.com for the very reasonable price of £27.99 and i'm sticking with it. Its not like it matters anyway its just some different packaging, bios and a Krummy Koin. All i care about is the game.

Anybody else with me?
I think alot of people are going for the Kollectors editions to get MK1 also.

So. I already have it on Sega and SNES

I think they are claiming it will be arcade perfect .It wasn't anywhere close to that on those systems by a long shot.

Surely it's only worth pre-ordering the Kollectors editions, those are meant to be limited. The standard version will be no problem to get hold of anyway.

The only advantage of the standard version is you save 10 dollars (in U.S.) or around the same amount here in the U.K.

Don't worry,be happy!

what does arcade perfect actually mean?
It means it is at least as good graphically etc as the version seen in arcades.

Same resolution
Same colour palette
Same number of animation frames
Same sound
Same Shang Tsung ability to morph without slowdown or loading from disk.
Same everything!

Are you guys sure the Premium Pack/Kollector's Edition isn't North America exclusive?

I went to pre-order the KE at EB, and they had a HUGE poster of the EB-Exclusive Scorpion KE Boxart, and in the right hand corner of the poster, it said:

"Pre-Order The North American Exclusive Premium Pack For The Playstation 2 Gaming Console, Or The Xbox Exclusive Kollector's Edition Now!"
That's interesting that they would put that in about being exclusive.I'm in the U.K. but I'm getting the U.S. ntsc version as I have a U.S. XBox.
I still think there will be a pal Kollectors version.

I've been nagging Modaway about any PAL release constantly, as I'm in the UK too: here's the official Midway word as of 2 days ago.

Thank you for contacting Midway Games. There is no additional information at this time concerning a PAL Kollector’s edition. It stands at TBD. More information will be available as we move closer to actual release dates.

Now, I'm assuming TBD means To Be Decided, which is a glimmer of hope. But jeez, they need to make a decision. I could import my Xbox copy from the USA, but these things are in limited supply, so we need to pre-order now. The UK release of Deception is still supposed to be Oct/Nov (?) but no retailer believes there will be a Kollectors edition.

I think I may have to take a chance and order one from ebgames.com, although they say on their site they have difficulty accepting credit cards from the UK ;o(

Midway are screwing the UK fans over this issue, and the US fans. First they take off MK1 from the Arcade Treasures pack, to booster the Kollectors Edition, then they only let 4 retail outlets sell the Kollectors editions....

All down to MONEY

If you are thinking of using ebgames.com,think again, I phoned them a couple of weeks ago, they don't ship to the U.K.I was going to buy the Kollector ed for US XBox from them.Gamestop don't ship xbox games in particular to uk by the way.

Are you trying to get the pal or the ntsc version?

Which stores ship to other countries, in particular... Australia. I'm really frustrated with this now, Amazon won't ship games to other countries right now, or ever. So if Midway wants to make their international gamers very unhappy, they are doing a bang up job.
Australia uses pal so unless you have a US xbox (or modded) you will have to wait for the pal version. The Kollectors editions available on ebgames and the other sites are for the US ntsc version only.

Yeah I can play the NTSC regions on my PS2 so thats why I really want it. And EBGames shipping prices are quite outrageous.
If ntsc is ok for you then go to cduniverse.com they ship to u.k. and they have the Kollectors editions.AND you can pay by Paypal. Also ebgames don't ship to uk.I thought it was an error on the site ( no United Kingdom in the drop down list) so I phoned them and was told basically no they don't incidentally the girl answering the call said she didn't know why and she didn't make the rules!(which seemed a bit childish thing to say!).

Thanks for the tip re cduniverse. I was after the NTSC version as my xbox has modchip, so it can play it!

Yeah REALLY strange about ebgames not shipping to UK - they couldn't explain it to me either, and they ship everywhere including United Arab Nations!!??

Anyway, all ordered now. Let the fight commence!
Good to hear you got it (pre)ordered.
You can check your order processing status on that site too.

My guess about Ebgames is that maybe they don't ship to countries which have EB shops maybe? I wonder if the U.K. is one of the few countries that has shops outside of America...

There's also a possibility that all the characters could be in MK1 like Virtua Fighter 4:Evolution
