Rent or Buy?
Rent or Buy?

We have seen alot about MK deception so tell me what will you do, rent or buy it. I was going to buy it cause they said they changed the fighting a little bit. but at e3 it looks all the same. its sad cause mortal kombat has better atmosphere than any other fighting game out there. But boon thinks he can just slap minigames, more fatalities, pit fatalities, muli layered levels, and just keep the fighting system the same. actually, no wonder he thinks he can do that. All these mk fans want is more blood and guts with no change to the fighting system because it is "perfect". Ever played Virtua fighter, soul calibur, or dead or alive (my personal favorite fighting engine). I will rent this game, but just like mkda i will see this for $20 used within 2 months of its release so why buy is for $50. and even then i will buy games like MAT2, halo 2, metal gear solid 3, dead or alive ultimate, and other games i cant think of right now. Mkd just doesnt have any big improvment to get excited about. And Dead or alive ultimate and tekken 5 are coming out soon with online capability and mkd doesnt have a fighting engine like they do. hell, tekken relized there engine was getting old so they did something different. i really hope mk7 changes its fighting engine, but boon doesnt seem to like change. and when he finally does change it is so far behind because fighting games evolve fast. i am done ranting. if yall like this engine, fine, your opinion. so what will yall do, rent or buy or wait to buy when it is cheaper.

Buy! My reasons...
1. It'll be next to impossible to rent it for months after its release since there will most likely be a waiting list.
2. It looks like it will be a long time to beat the game with every character...lol I still haven't finished MKDA. Hey I have a job and other projects.
3. It seems to have alot of replay value, beyond the time it will take to completely beat it.
4. I still kicking myself in not getting the first two games when they first came out, giving away MK3 and losing MK4. Now I'll have to buy the Midway TreasuresII to get the first three.

im buying it... for the reason that i love mortal kombat... and that i collect almost everything of mortal kombat... so basically saying im getting both version of mkd on xbox and ps2...just like mkda but instead i got it on gamecube and ps2....ne one knows a place where i can get more mk komics? i have bout every issue... just missing some...
How can you complain about mk:da gameplay when your favorite game is DoA??
There is a great article in that Ziff-Davis Xbox magazine this month. They held a DOA3 tournament in Japan, and a guy who hadn't been playing for more than a few weeks ended up winning simply by spinning around his opponents until they stuck out an attack, then he punished them.
Is that what you call deep gameplay??
Anyway it's hard to put tekken against mk,because tekken had 5 game to adjust their 3d engine and Mk is only at is 2ND and already improving greatly IMO.
You can be sure that MK is never gonna play like tekken,sc2 or vf.It's more about special move and small string combos. All they need is to balance everything with more counter's and throw and the game gonna play way better..
anyway...just my 2 cent....
p.s. : dont be to picky on my grammar.. im french so..

It will be a must buy for me. I am so excited about this game that I pre-ordered the game from my local Game Stop last week. Don't forget SonOf100Maniacs...the E3 version of the game was roughly 20% completed. You will see a completely polished version when it comes out. I think it's going to blow us all away. Is it October yet? *looks at calendar* mother@#$%&*...!!!

I always rent before I buy. I'm a causious person. lol. I do, however, think that I'm going to own it eventually. I gotta work up my paycheck and stop spending it all on clothes and junkfood!

$ BUY $
I am for sure buying the crap out of this game, it won't know what hit it. It'll be like, "Cash or Card" and ill be like, "Card biotch, and throw some of those coupons and flyers in with it."
Midway has been working fricking long hours on this game to deliever a top notch fighter. Shit, they listened to Us, the fans and built it up from there so we owe it to them to buy.
Thumbs UP to those who BUY!

Doa isnt deep but it is smooth and still has more moves and is deeper than MKDA. its just an opinion, i just like doa's fighting engine, it is unique because it is easy to learn and you can kick people 20 feet away from you. theres just something cool about that.

You don't deserve to have the Shao Kahn Icon you're displaying. Why isn't it something of DOA?

My decision is still pending on whether I'll buy this game.
Buying it. Buying it so hard, the store will explode from the sheer amount of energy that will be released when I plonk my cash down on the table.
For the record, DOA's gameplay is about as deep as MK's. punch, punch, counter, **smack** get up kick, punch, counter....

calm down. i love mk's characters and atmosphere. that what got me into it. and in my opinion shao kahn is the most bad ass boss, hell he is the most bad ass character. well, him and baraka. i love mk's story and setting i just wish they could improve the gameplay. i hate Doa characters but the game is fun. mk has so much potential for cool moves and stuff like that but they dont do it. i wanna see more throws, reversals, and more varied moves with style. one of Subzeros reversals could have him catching there arm or leg, freezing it, and flipping them over and the arm or leg unusable for about 5 seconds. Another example can be a scorpion throw. He could toss you 20 feet in the air and quickly throw his grappling hook and pull you back to the ground with great speed. see stuff like this could make characters even more different rather than just the there 5 or 6 special moves. It would also make mk a more destinguished fighter that even non mk fans and hardcore will pass by and buy it with no regerets.

Ok fair enough, I admit that DoA is more fluid and it makes me wonder if mk:de is gonna run a 60 frame per second or less, anybody knows?.
And to answer your question i gonna buy as soon as it hit the store.Probalby pre-order it over internet.I think ill try to be the first full grown shujinko on the net to whoop some ass.
THANK yOU LOL!! bUT I ALrEADY started to save and as soon as i come home from School im gonna run out and get it and beat the shizzeles out of it cause why would you rent hello for one thing you'll probally only get little done and plus with school or jobs theres all the time taken right there then youd have to take it back to Blockbuster or wherever and re-rent it doesnt make any sence to me when you can OWN it to play whenever you want and not have to wory about late fees or crapola like that!!!! But i will agree on your veiws from above but ive never played DOA so i cant make any judgements and hey i waited for some games to become used myself Silent Hill and Resident Evil and GTA so I cant argue with that when i do it myself but Im gonna flat out buy MKD cause i cant wait no longer!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe, do you even need to ask? Im buying it the day it comes out. Why? Becuase I liked MKDA, and MKD looks to be 100 times better. So what if the fighting engine isnt perfect? I know I will still love this game.
