Straight from Ed Boon:
"Apologies to anyone who thought my Reptile reference was hinting at upcoming DLC. For what its worth, he’s not. Sorry about the confusion."

His very own Twitter account, the same one people were talking about with the reptile eggs.

maybe cause reptile is another ninja, and we don't need to have the game saturated with ninjas. get a more original kombatant to take the slot.

I am a fan. I want other characters more than Reptile. Odd question.

If anything, most people have Wiis compared to the other two. Everyone and their mother seems to have a Wii.
I know what you mean though.

from what i read he did not deconfirm reptile being possible dlc
That just dosen't sound like Boon to me. The MK fans get what they want more than most people think, they just complain about it when they get it. Take Armageddon for example. Some people loved it (I did), some people hated it, but the majority were buzzing about another Trilogy with all the characters in it. Well, thats what they got, even if it lacked in more areas than not.
Boon usually won't confirm anything at all, especially if he's got the ability to make it still. My theory is that if they were even going to have DLC, they would have #1- Released some by now, and #2- Not be saying that someone definitely will not be in DLC. They wouldn't tell us whos not going to be there up front, especially a character like Reptile who is a pretty big fan favorite. So I conclude, that if that statement is true, then we're not going to get any DLC at all.

Which part of the original post from Ed Boon did you not understand? Reptile is absolutely NOT going to be a DLC option.

Well, ok, maybe Ed Boon is lying. It IS directly from him though. That is a direct quote. Period. I can't say he isn't lying directly to us, but it sure doesn't sound like it. I think it would be pretty stupid to directly say Reptile is not being considered for DLC and be lying.
Idiots took his picture caption and TURNED it into a confirmation of Reptile being DLC. He came back the very next day and said what is in the original post I made as a response to these idiots.

Thats not the point at all. Midway is in the toilet, and the only thing left is for someone to flush it. Do you seriously think that Boon and the guys are working on MK vs DCU at this point? They don't even know if they are going to have a job tomaro. Of course, Midway is trying to hold onto Boon at least until someone can pay enough money for the MK franchise, but that is whats going on in the world of MK, not DLC.
My point was that if there is any character that should have been included, it would be Reptile. Amongst those MK characters who they already put in the game, Reptile is the most surprising to leave out, and Boon knows it. It wouldn't be a smart thing to do if he and the team released a bunch of crappy DLC characters that nobody wants. If they had the money and the time to work on it, they would do Reptile, plain and simple. The fact is that they don't have the time, or the money, and right now its probably the last thing on their minds anyway.

Yep. I hate to say it, because really, I DON'T like Reptile, but...
A) the character thread reinforced the fact that the majority of fans want Reptile. Unless my memory deceives me, he got the most votes (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong).
B) He's been in the series since MK's first incarnation. Albeit not playable, he was part of the original cast.
C) Most importantly, he's incredibly recognizable! When it comes to the set of players who haven't indulged in the series, Reptile is typically a recognized name along with (holy shit, are you ready for this!) Subzero, Raiden, Kang, and Scorpion. He's even more recognizable than Kahn, and most definitely more recognizable than Kung Lao or Baraka. Boon said he was going to use iconic characters, and I will hold him to that.
And the "but he's a ninja" argument has no grounds anymore. All the ninjas have unique stories (often really good ones in the case of Sub and Ermac), unique appearances, and unique character relationships. If I ever get word that the team included Baraka over Reptile because Baraka "wasn't a ninja," I will punch a small child in the face.
As bored as I am with Reptile, he ought to be in the game. That said, I stand with the few others that there is no DLC on the way. I just find it very unlikely.

They WERE all ninjas. They don't even look like ninjas anymore.

I have to disagree, if anything, Johnny Cage is more recognizable, as Reptile has had so many ridiculous changes to his looks no one knows which incarnation might come up.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Personally, I'd like to see Ermac, Smoke
