let me tell u the truth about MKD. Its a great fighting game, hands down, but there are a lot of fucking annoying things that are just plain bad about this game. MKD isn't close to reaching its full potentian. Midway definitley fucked it up, big time. Instead of spending their energy to improving graphics, fixing tons of glitches, polishing the game more, etc, (countless) they decited to create a konquest mode, a boring waste of time. More over, instead of those pointless krypt items, photos, skethes, etc, they could again spend their time on the actual game, and engine. Well, even so, its still a great fighting game, fatalities are awesome

That's about right ^^^
It's a pretty kool game, but some things should have been done much better.
The fight engine especially needs a ton of improvement.
One of the most annoying things about the fight engine is how much lag time there is after an attack.
It's like they punch or kick, then 2-3 seconds pass before you can block again.
As if they recovered in slow motion.
But I figured out how to use that to my advantage.
I can now beat the computer on Max difficulty by mainly blocking then attacking fast after I block an attack.
Since they recover so slow, I'm able to hit them almost every time.
Then I don't throw too many attacks unless I know they are going to connect.
That's my basic strategy.

MK: D could've been much better...
I think they should take out all the pointless crap (like team photos, sketches, and other behind the scenes stuff) and just put it in the "Kollectors Edition" and the fighting engine really needs to improve...

I do agree that the fighting engine could use a hell of a lot of work, but I really enjoyed Konquest, I thought it great. More fun than mythologies. I really like chess too, I love strategy games, so that was just a big thing for me. The puzzle game, it's pretty fun, I love seeing the big headed mk chars kick the crap out of each other.
There's no doubt in my mind, if you like mortal kombat, than you will love this.
Frank however, does not think any fighting game that's American can do well. He's ashamed because he is the minority in thinking that the game is awful. He only like street fighter and some other japanese fighters.

Frank says he's not an MK fan.... and thats alright obviously. But with MK... your either gonna love it, or your gonna hate it. In Frank's case... he hates it (well, MKD at least.... he scored MK2 really high I believe). He's also into the cartoon 2D fighting games. He just has a different taste.
For my opinion.... this is by far the best MK... well.... MK2 still kicks ass, but MKD is great. Sure it needs it's touching up, so they better touch it up in the 7th one.

I will be honest.
This is by far, probably the best Mk game.
The 1 thing that needs improvement, IMO, is the gameplay.
I had so much fun with MKDA fighting system (even though its far from perfect), but with MKD, the recovery time is soooooo slow. Its a defensive game, not aggressive.
Thats the one thing that bothered me.
But overall, the gameplay needs to be fixed, I dont have a problem with it (MKDA), but it needs to be improved.

His beef with this storyline is crap though... Raiden came back because he destroy his physical form himself, Shang Tsung didn't come back to life... and Baraka's Demise was a possible ending for MKGold/4, not set in stone and since Quan Chi didn't kill Shinnok or take the throne of Queen Sindel... that ending didn't happen... so he was being unfair and inaccurate about whining about the storyline

If I recall correctly, this is the guy that gave MKDA a really high review, then deleted his review, then later gave it a really low review.
Also, he said Nitara was a great, unique, original addition to the MK storyline and was very creative and loved her. Then he deleted that and Nitara was boring, lame, stupid, and didn't fit in with MK at all. I'm willing to say this guy is probably bi-polar and there's still hope that he'll give MKD a high review after all.

I don't get why it seams every reviewer seams to hate what all the fans think is the best MK game ever. I would say it is the glitchyest console game I've ever played. It is tones of fun and a good time for all. Tweeks and polish could be sprinkled about over all, but anyone that says its a bad game should be reviewing something else. It like when the paper sends out a John Mayer fan to review Korn.
Reviews are pointless at this point. You have to look to see why they don't like or do like a game. If they complain about the controls then that could be one thing. When they nit pick about story lines in a genre that almost always never has one at all, then they are full of shit.
MK is lucky to have such a in depth story . It gives us lots of other creative stuff in game that other fighters lack. Great original, other worldly backgrounds to fight on for one. Capcom hasn't made an interesting background in years. The almost quit making them at all. Tekken has had all of one or two decent backgrounds. We get creative characters that fit in the game. There is nothing odd about people that throw fire and ice in MK. At some point the stroryline will fall apart. Its what always happens in shows and movies when they try to milk an idea for too long. It may not last forever but at least we do have and actual, creative storyline. I can live with a flaw or two here and there. They happen sometime in any running story.
