i agree with this idea. especially if two people who love the same person fight against each other, that could affect the outcome of the end story. Also they could have an intro to the fight and discuss the relationship triangle.
there is a problem though. there is more guys than girls. if there is a couple of more girls that would be good.

I do too. Lets add some more human emotions and perspective to the game.

Jax and Tanya... Tanya appears before the special forces and asks for their help but Sonya has a bad feeling so she did not want to go. Jax then falls for Tanya and agrees to go with her instead of Sonya. After repetitive warnings from both Sonya and the thunder God, Jax still goes on with the plan only to find out that Sonya and Raiden were right. He manages to escape and returns to Special Forces Headquarters only to find that the Special Forces were slaughtered.

Jax goes rogue and tries to avenge his team by hunting the bad guys in the shadows. Later, Tanya shows up again and proves that she has changed. Then, they end up together.

Jade and Sub Zero. After Shao Khan's fall, Jade holds no allegiance to anyone except the last parts of her that wants Kitana's forgiveness but she knew it would take time for her to find it in her heart to do so. For this, Jade went into hiding and stumbles upon the Lin Kuei, there, she stays for a while and trains new abilities. Later, she falls for the grand master, Sub Zero.

You might be right but as it is you have ppl on the same side fighting.

i wrote this post thinking a of a new story mode. there would of course be an arcade mode in the game which would allow you to fight everyone regardless of what side they are on. but in the mk storyline there would be limits on who you fight.

I think Kitana should stay on her own. I don't know, her and Kung Lao just doesnt seem right because it looks like Kung Lao would be a rebound guy and Kitana would come off kind of slutty (lol).

I really like the Baraka and Mileena connection though. Two ruthless killers who care about nothing but themselves (and eachother of course). If this were to happen, their allignment should be neutral.

If, and only if Kitana were to pair up again..... I think she would look better with Kenshi rather than Kung Lao. Can u see Kenshi as the new King of Edenia??

Back to the topic, I say Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade are a great couple. We know there is something going on with them thanks to the games, movies, and even in the comics they have love scenes! I say they are great for each other. I would really like the games to focus more on this.

I also like Mileena + Baraka couple and Kitana + Kung Lao.

when i wrote this theory i was thinking that some time passed by between mortal kombat deadly alliance, heres my made up story, kung lao was invited into the kingdom of edenia to share his teachings of the shaolin to generals in edenia's army. a royal guest to queen kitana kung lao spent time with kitana in helping her with political situations (like a servant) kung lao reminded her so much of liu kang and there was an awkwardness to them, kitana made a move to kung lao and they kissed, kung lao then relized how he is taking liu kang's place and knows that is disrespectful to his fallen comrade, he tells kitana he is not like liu kang and leaves edenia back to earth. the dragon king returns and then attacks the kingdom of edenia and kitana sets off on a quest and disapears with some of her men into the outworld, raiden gathers warriors including kung lao to travel into the outworld to gain as much information as they can on the dragon king's armies and to search for kitana.

Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, first off it would be awesome, plus it would incorporate Johnny Cage into someone else's storyline, maybe he could eventually quit acting and join the Special Forces or something. Because most characters are involved in other character's storyline, but Johnny Cage isn't and that could spice up his storyline being romantically involved with Sonya.

Hows about Scorpion finally killing Quan Chi's bald ass and being reunited with his wife and kid in the happy netherealm?
