It might seem old fashioned but I think a real tournament like setting for the next MK would be just awesome. I'm kind of bored with these constant war like battles between the realms.

I like to see the tournament theme in MK7 just because I like to see something else then saving the world theme.

I wouldn't mind a tournment, it would be pretty cool. But for the fact of what will happen in MKD, if the DK will still be around or not, then we will probably be still saving the world if he is. If not I'd say a tournment would be nice.

I brought this up in a thread a few weeks ago and was shut down for even mentioning MK7 (which I think sucked).

I'd like to see a tournement again to be honest. But how about a tournement where the good guys are the bosses/sub-bosses (Liu Kang, Goro? Kung Lao, Subzero?) and you get to play as a good mix of the defeated bad guys (Shao Kahn, Dragon King, Shang Tsung, etc) and some of the defenders (Scorpion, Kitana, Raiden, etc).

Set it in Edenia for some lush backgrounds. Maybe add a few unholy places for a bit of a mix.
