all these years being so into mortal kombat, all the time i spent modding my xbox and achieved getting every mk ever made on it even the movies, all the dreams of playing a new mk on the next gen consoles, all the memories of mortal kombat since i was fuckin 7 years old (im 22 now)...is gonna all boil down to fuckin gay ass batman and robin and lord knows who else being thrown in the mix in this part of my life( i hate to say it but its true , mk sort of defines me in some ways) I swear i will puke....i will never stoop down on that level and play that piece of shit game, or waist 1 minute of my life reading into the new story line...never! fuck this shit man....that better not be batmans little skinny arm...i cant believe im even writing this right now....never in my dreams did i think this day would come....

And you can't honestly say the MK bitches, many of whom probably wouldn't actually boycott an MK/DC game, wouldn't flood back to an MK game promoted as a 'return' to the classic.

Best case scenario, they'll bring new fans to the franchise.
Worst case scenario, they've manufactured themselves a promotional platform for the next game. A platform that's worked pretty well for them in the promotion of most of the last few games that have all promised elements that we know and love from the past.

You know what I find a little hilarious(then again it is MKO fans so I guess I shouldn't be surprised)


but how the DC fans will receive this, I know plenty on here and elsewhere that said they'd be excited if this happens but since they don't follow MK they don't believe it'll happen. I'll have to update them tomorrow once everything is official...

Honestly, lol it is like Mick said though. This move will turn off some MK fans(chances are those are the ones who bitch constantly about something anyway lol) and gain newer fans (DC fans or both MK and DC fans)

My worse fears with cross overs in general, rather it be games or movies or whatever, are that there may be one side that the other side of fans are not really famillar with. For example, every one know DC and super man ect. But do the urber DC fans really know much about MK? They may have to play catch up.

If I had to guess, I'd say that's going to mostly come down to casual readers and fans of the cartoons, though.

Something a lot of MK fans are oblivious to is the general reputation MK has outside the community. I don't think many other fanbases are all that interested in MK's insular conceptuals and shallow gameplay.
When people were still floating the game as an MK/SF crossover, what little response I saw from the SF fans was certainly less than stellar.
I don't know if you'd get that same ire from the comics community, but I certainly don't think longtime fans would jumping for joy at the prospect of a DC/MK game.

... And I'm still reluctant to expect anything DC-related, even at this point.
It all still seems like circumstantial supposition and a lot of fan-driven hysteria.

DC has a huge fanbase. So this is helping out both companies. I'm pretty sure that once you guys(because there are no girls on mko) play it, you'd be happy with it. Just a thought.
