scorpion in theory could always comeback.
subzero on the other hand is not immortal or anything like that.
if he dies in MKA that should be it.
and depending on how long MK8 is after MKA he might be to old anyway.

The first subzero died and came back as Noob and then his brother came into the picture so when he died 2 characters came out of that lol, in mk when someone dies it means we get more characters lol

Im not sure if Scorpion can die and keep coming back, I mean, he died before MK1 and came back as a spectre, but the comics always said that you could kill his essence and banish him, but I dont know really. He has never died in any games of MK (1-Armageddon), even in MKDA's ending he did not die, he escaped the sounado and entered a void where the elder gods shaped him to be their next champion. I think there is a way he can be killed but MK has never really touched base on it besides saying he will respawn until he avenges his family......so I dont know, but that story is over now so he could possibly die for good with his new story maybe. Who knows, I do like Scorpion but I miss his old ways, the family story was getting kinda old, but it was the only way they could keep him alive, thats why I wish he could somehow avenge his family but still be a spectre and keep his anger inside to fuel his fighting, but the story would contradict itself if he stayed alive after avenging his familys murder.........peace

well here I go again, either I just keep entering the threads late, or my logic is just undeniable and inarguable. What ever the case, I hope this post doesn't end the convo.
To begin, Scorpion is the Champion of the elder gods. It's cannon. Not only was it in his MKD "what-if" ending, but it was also in his MKD bio(s).
The main reason for my post is to put my two cents in on the whole people dying in MK thing. The only reason everyone is all pissy about it is because someone, I forget who, said nobody really dies in MK. If you think about it, that statement is not completely true. The great Kung Lao died, the Original Sub-Zero died, as well as Hanzo Hasashi. All though two of the three were reanimated and returned in different forms, their original form is gone forever.
When someone dies in MK, and their soul is tainted mind you, they go to the Netherealm where they are "reborn." There are others that reside there, those who were "born" there, and those who were banished there. Drahmin was bansihed there, as was Shinnok, reptile and even Shujinko for a time. They were still alive while they were there, but even so, they needed an outside force to escape that realm, just like everyone else.
The Netherealm isn't a place to go and just hang out, if you die there, you lose your identity, and will be in for an eternity of well, hell. It's a dangerous place, just ask Shinnok about his 1000 year "vacation," and see if it was all fun and roses.
but lets look at some of those who died in MK:
Milleena died, but her soul was pulled back from hell and put back in her body.
Sindel died, but kahn held her soul hostage and then gave it to Shinnok in order to resurect her on earth.
Sheeva died acording to DA's konquest mode, as did motaro and a couple others. But DA's konquest story was more non-canon than canon, I don't put much stock in it.
Kung Lao supposedly died in MK3, but his MK 4 bio stated that he faked his death. And the same thing happened with Goro and his death in the DA and MKD storylines. Hell, the same thing happened to Kahn!
Cage is the big one though, he died in MK3 (his finest moment in my eyes) and was resurectioned in MK4. It was canon, but was retconed in DA. Over the past 4 years I've gotten over it, I've learned to live with him being wound in MK3 and not dying.
As you can see people do die in MK, but some times under the right circustances (like when boon says so), those deaths can be reversed. It's only happened to like three people.

The Champion of the Elder Gods story was just a lame excuse to put Scorpion in MKD.

I feel you, but it was still his story none the less.

i really think that there going to kill of a good load of people for good and cannon, i think maybe in future games as bonus they might through in someone but just as that without a story
