Should they?
Scorpion has been seeking revenge for his familys death for some time now and has finally unmasked the face of their true killer. However, he has still failed to capture Quan Chi and complete his revenge.
Sub-Zero is now in trouble. He has the Red Dragon to fend off thanks to Quan Chi. He has the Tekunin to deal with, however that threat is unknown to him at this time. He has Frost to deal with and possibly Sareena also. And he will most likely have to come back into battle against the forces of the Dragon King and the Deadly Alliance.
Given Sub-Zeros good alignment, if they did team up, itd be for good. Imagine the incredible power their alliance would possess. Evil would have their deadliest foes yet! The Dragon King would definitely have problems having both of them after him. Sub-Zero can aid Scorpion in his revenge task and Scorpion can help out protecting Earth and Sub-Zero. Imagine a showdown between Scorpion and Sektor or Sub-Zero and Mavado. Sub-Zero could trap Quan Chi somewhere and the showdown between Quan and Scorpion can finally take place.
If they eventually succeeded in their goals, imagine future prospects for the two. They could form their own clan or something. Of course, that most likely wouldnt happen.
The idea would also help take Scorpions story in a slightly new direction, as many believe his story has become boring. What do you think they should do?

Good idea in theory, but Im all for leavin their storylines seperate for the time being. Let their lives intertwine down the line but not just yet
Good idea but not just yet I dont think.
Good idea but not just yet I dont think.
If that did happen, Scorpion would be the Protoman assuming Sub-Zero would be the Mega Man. Protoman only comes in to save Mega Man in a critical situation, but other than that Mega Man is on his own. I don't think Scorpion would be one to be like "Don't worry Sub! I'm here to save you!" It'd be more of a "push comes to shove" sort of deal, so it seems.

i think eventually they will fight side by side but not yet, maybe further on in the series.
given sub-zero has to fend off the red dragon, tekunin, frost, sareena, and having to help earth against the dragon king, sub-zero diffinately needs help from somewhere

well i have to disagree here with you tg, i think they have already settled their score, and even tho they have their trouble, i don't think they should team up, Scorpion is an infernal Spectre, he is neutral to whatever happens to earthrealm or any other, so IMO i don't think he would do so, as for Subbie, he has other allies to help out. Good Thread.

I understand what your saying along with what everyone else is saying.
Scorpion most likely wouldn't agree to this as he doesn't seem to be the type to accept help when it's offered. He wouldn't willingly agree to help Earth realm, but his former enemy could be worthy of his help in his eyes. The same can be said of Sub-Zero, excpet he'd probably ask for help. Scorpion as his former enemy would be a good person to ask for help.
And your right, Sub does have others that he can ask. But they all have their own problems to take care of.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero teaming up'd be cool. I could see a scene between them like in Dragonball Z where Goku had to convince Vegeta to help him.

Scorpion is kinder like vegeta.

I'd rather see Raiden and Shao Kahn team up to defeat the Dragon King, and then after the DK is defeated, Kahn could trick the earth warriors and take the throne for himself.

You know they were a team before. What??, well kind of - in the 1st movie and in the animated movie they are slaves under Shang Tsung and were to work together to kill the earthrealm warriors. Anyway...
I like the idea alot, but I doubt it will happen. I feel that Sub Zero will find help elsewhere (Smoke??) and that Scorpion will fight solo again or also get help from someone else. In theory though, it's a good idea...

Sub-Zero will have Smoke and I don't really see Scorpion needing any help since his only beef is really with Quan Chi.
I would like to see a Sub-Zero/Kitana/Sindel alliance, since Sindel and Kitana could also use some help. I don't see an alliance involving that many popular characters coming into play right now though, so I'll just cross my fingers for other games.

I agree with you Tgrant... Considering i already made a topic like this one.
>_>
Ok i didn't- But i should have, lol. I don't think it'll happen... in this game, Maybe the next?

I had this different idea...
We've heard from Inside Sources (especially over at Dave's MK Forum) that Quan Chi will definately be back.
What if Quan Chi and Sub-Zero were to team up?
Think of it; Quan Chi still has the amulet, which was used to control the Undefeatable army. Sub-Zero has the Dragon Medallion. Could it be combined with the amulet to retake control of the army and turn them against the Dragon King?
When the Dragon King sees Quan Chi as a threat, he enlists Scorpion to kill Quan Chi (suiting the spectre fine)...but the sorcerer's now being "protected" by Sub-Zero (similar to the Mileena / Baraka story)!

| wyndrain Wrote: Please no. I think you made good points but I always hated the idea of scorpion and sub-zero teaming up. Its just too predictable and it would almost lead to nothing new. Just 2 enemies fighting in the same side. |
As predictable as it may be, it could prove beneficial to both of them and the story in the long run. However I would prefer MK to stay away from obvious predictability.

Id hate that idea! Lol Raiden and Kahn teaming up wouldnt ever happen! Id be really annoyed if it did! But, it would make a nice surprise twist. Its not a bad idea.

I guess your right, although it is unknown whether or not Smoke will actually ally with Sub-Zero once again. Scorpion is after Quan, but he seems to not be getting anywhere with his revenge attempt at all. He keeps running into other adversaries.
I like the idea of Sindel and Kitana joining Sub-Zero. That could be interesting.

Why would Sub-Zero team up with Quan? He would never do that! It could work as part of the Deception since Quan has sent the Red Dragon after the Lin Kuei, but Sub-Zero would not willingly join Quan Chi.
The idea of the fusion of the medallion and the amulet is good. It could grant the bearer some awesome powers if it worked. This however, I dont see happening. It would also be pointless for the Dragon King to enlist Scorpion when Scorpion is already after Quan.

When I say ally with Quan Chi, I mean an unwilling alliance borne out of necessity- doesn't mean they've got the same intentions! It's like the old story where the hero and villain have to work together for a short time.
As for the amulet / medallion fusion being good but not probable- hey, we're all speculating and having fun til the game comes out

Well, I think that actually Scorpion and Sub Zero should become enemies again. I don't want them to be allies. They are better enemies than they are allies. But that won't happen either so. If they aren't going to be enemies, I would rather them just not have anything to do with each other for a while.

Are we sure that the Subzero we see for MK:D isn't the older brother. He's bald on top and sporting a gray ponytail. I highly doubt the younger Subzero would age so fast from MK4 to now.
Come on Sub, time to get hair club for men.
Scorpion is waiting for his chance to take him out. Why else is he still around, other than to kill Quan Chi.

we all know that is the younger sub-zero, and that the use of the medallion is aging him faster, where have you been????
The older sub-zero would only be in his late 30's early 40's if he were still alive.
Scorpion isn't waiting for anything, he attempted assassinating quan chi but got caught by drahmin and moloch in his Deadly Alliance ending.
I think this idea could lead to many more potential directions, if and only if it stays away from all predictable things.
I think this 2 can be one brutal alliance, but I rather see them enemies then friends for some reason. I think they should go back to the old days, when they hated each other.
But still, I think this could work very well. I overall like the idea.

Scorpion only hated Sub-Zero's brother... Who he killed.

Don't forget sub-zero's long time friend , Smoke , is coming back. Sub needs an ally to stay by his side all the time, and smoke is the perfect ally to do it. It doesn't matter if smoke is cyborg or human. He will ally his best friend no matter what.

I'm sorry but for some reason I would be really pissed of if Smoke was to help out Sub-Zero. These three ninjas could have awesome power if they ever joined but I doubt it. For some reason I have a feeling that Smoke's relationship is going to be a confrantation instead of a reunion. As for the idea of Scorpion and Sub-Zero, it's like Inuyasha and Sesshomaru. They can't stand each other, but we do see Sesshomaru help Inuyasha, once. So if they joined it would be a one time thing.
