That would be awesome. But, unless you were fighting 2 people at once, I don't see the need... but it's a good idea.

I think that is a good idea, replacing his fire pwers with something more divine...

Scorpion could be a kind of "Heaven meets hell" character. His powers could dark and evil with a spiritual touch...
His fatality could be...
He raises one arm and chants some holy words in a foreign language. Then the ground next to the opponent would start to cave in, and a heavenly light will shine from the sky. Then a netherrealm demon would jump out of the hole in the ground and an angel could fly down from the sky. Both spiritual creatures would grab one of the opponent's arms and spin around the opponent. While still holding an arm each, the creatures would move apart from each other and split the opponent in two. Then the angel would fly back up and the demon would climb back into the hole in the ground...

I think this idea would have been welcomed, seeing as how many people think Scorpion has gone stale. When Subby started to go stale they revamped him, not only in mk3, but again for MKD - they should think of doing the same for Scorp. And your idea would solve the problem.
I suppose they did do it in a way, but only for Konquest w/ 'Monster'
They should have used that look as his primary outfit, then kept the classic ninja outfit as his alternate - explaining it's appearance by saying something like "While Scorpion had an obligation to the Elder Gods to defeat the Dragon King, he still wanted vengence against the being who killed his family. When he found Quan Chi he wanted him to recognize the being who was bringing him so much agony..."
Also, I like the 'special champion powers', especialy the double spear. The way I'd like to see it done is like in MKA, where the spear splits in two (and is alive, that was a cool addition by the movies and would suit 'champion Scorp' imo)
So yeah I agree, they should have altered him drasticaly to make him fit his storyline. Good thread...

So, you think Scorpion should be the "Dark Angel" type? An angel of death for the Elder Gods? Sounds like an interesting concept. Keep everything that primarily makes him Scorpion (ie. spear, hellfire, and flaming skull), but perhaps play them up a tad to make them seem more '"hellishly devine". A move or fatality with flaming angel wings? I like the "double spear" idea.
So, just play Scorp up a bit like Subbie and Ermac were? Sounds good to me, as long as you keep what we love about him in tact. GET OVER HERE! Oh yeah...needs to stay.

Its the opposite, Scorpion dam them and sends them to hell.

Sending the opponent to heaven/hell would fit Scorpion's new concept more. I like the idea...

I think that the Angel of Death is really good. Im just wondering how to make him a Holy Avenger of Death? not just in his fatilities, but his moves, his actions, and his specials (White fire for some of his moves like fire backflip, but keep his hellfire attack orange becaues it looks like hes conjuring fire from hell). Im also wondering if any of you have an idea how Scorpion can keep his yellow costume, because white, with his alt. orange would fit better with the story.

Has everyone seen the original concept for Scorpion for Deception? I'm pretty sure its in the Production Art section in MKD, and it says it was the first piece of art made for Deception. It's Scorpion with this basically exaggeratted costume, with huge shoulder armour and body armour and spear etc. Almost looks like Samus from Metroid Prime. He looks totally badass, and I think with a few alterations, that basic idea would be sweet for an Elder God's Champion.
Maybe his spear could be aimable... for crouchers and jumpers. Or you could use the spear in the air, like jump and throw down at the guy. Or even use the spear to launch your opponent: spear him and then fling/whip him as far as you could.

Um, maybe they recreated him to be their agent, not an angel. You know, to have a fighter in their ranks with unexpected capabilities (who would expect a spectre from heavens?).
Keep the current Scorpion, and change his looks but don't go making him an avenging angel. That would take away the mainly ninja concept of his character.-at least for me.

Scorpion should say as he is... it gives his character the tragedy of an 'elder gods' champion who may be pure in soul but stuck in a cursed body with his current powers of fire.

well i dont think Scorpion is the Elder Gods Champion. just their servant. i think his ending is false completly. all i know is if they offered Scorpion to be their champ he wouldnt take it. they turned him into their servant. not champion. or perhaps its the same thing in this case. but i dont see him as the Elder Gods champ.

two things,
first who ever said Scorpion should stay the same as he was in mk1....cause he was good. Well he has been similar for 7 games now...beside a few power tweaks and the cross over to 3d. But its the old theory of evoultion, things that dont adapt dont survive. Scorpion needs to change to keep game fresh the simple rule is if you want the OLD scorpion play the old games. otherwise the game will never continue to expand other than basic cosmetics.....
and secondly......
It has been stated that after he saw the elder gods he was forever changed, it was a relgious experience for him......so to speak

They maybe offered him his family back. Nothibng else could motivate
Scorpion that way. He's too cynic and burned-out.
