Eh, I think he has some major competition. Like Kabal, Ashrah, Kobra, Hotaru, and Dairou for example.

Yeah in Deadly Alliance, Scorpion was a great character. In Deception, however, Scorpion on has Hapkido as his returning style. Pi Gua went to Hotaru, and the Ninja Sword/Katana went only to Kenshi this time.
Besides I'm a firm believer in the fact that a character is only as good as the player.

and back on topic i think that scorp will actually be better than people are expecting. people are all like OH NO he doesnt have pi gua! but this new style looks much more compatable than pi gua. i would rather have a more combo compatable style than have a single striking one like pi gua. but he does have some major competition in this one (kobra!) everyone looks tons more powerful and i cant wait! only like 27 days!

Scorpion in mkda was weak.

No matter what, I will still have him as my #1 character.

I never used pi gua very much, I prefer hapkido, I abuse of that 1, 1, 1, 2 combo and then 3 or 4 consecutive sweeps

Anyway, no, Scorpion will almost certainly NOT be at the top of tier list this time around for a number of reasons.
1. No Pi Gua - Pi Gua was THE most devastating fighting style in DA, there is no argument against this fact because it's complete truth. Scorpion's other styles were pretty much not worth using so with it missing he goes way down on the tier list by default.
2. No shove - Because the special move button is gone it means things like the shove, neijin, and counter are a thing of the past. Why was the shove important? It was important because you could get a pretty much guarenteed Hellfire out of it.
3. Hellfire is blockable - I believe this was confirmed by somebody, but now that the Hellfire is blockable it means that another weapon is gone from his arsenal. It wouldn't really be a problem but because Pi Gua is gone you can't guarentee a Hellfire anymore.
At best, Scorpion will be middle tier but we'll have to see how the changes/improvements have gone over in Hapkido and we'll have to see if his other styles are any good.

That's true, but you give the same exact player two characters, one that is inherently better than the other with a lot more usable options. The argument no longer works. Which character do you think he would perform better with? That's what a good character means. =P The same player playing a good character will be even better than the same player playing a bad character.

I noe wat u mean Queve those are some some wicked ass charcters but Scorpion always will be the best in my opinion.Out of Sektor Scorpion i think always had that wicked ass feeling of a charachter u noe wat im saying?Im not saying that those charchters are bad there awesome i like each and every charchter there is in Deception but Scorpion is just awesomein this game.

100% right, i thought all the chars in Deadly Alliance were balanced when playing against another skilled player, im fairly sure it will be the same with Deception, with the exception of Shujinko.

Against skilled players:
Matchups like Reptile vs Kitana
Reptile in Crab: 100% safety off every poke, if he gets blocked, he can't be punished.
Kitana in any stance: 0% safety off of everything, if she gets blocked for anything, she eats at least a 25% combo.
Now with two bad players you won't notice this in the matchup. But with two skilled players, Kitana basically cannot ever afford to screw up whereas even if Reptile screws up, Kitana wouldn't be able to do anything.
Against some of the other characters, it's even worse. If Kitana screws up against Bo Rai Cho once, she loses all her life to his infinite. If Bo Rai Cho screws up and gets blocked, Kitana still can't do anything because like Reptile, he recovers faster than she can punish, etc.

100% wrong. I think topics like this should stop until people can play online a realize who and what is good and who and what is not. People saying stupid shit like Scorpion in MKDA sucking and MKDA being balanced really need a reality check..bad.
