GameDAILY.com is also hosting the Boon video in it's full 7 minute entirety. It's an 88 MB download, but GameDAILY is completely free.

Yeah, I'm really excited hearing him say that there will be 24 characters playable off the bat with MORE hidden. That's a lot more than what I expected.

And the roundhouse is returning too. Man I can't wait to knock the hell out my opponet with that.

Yep, 24 characters playable off the bat, Ed is really going all out with this one I believe it will be by far the best most complete MK ever. Ed listens to the fans a lot and it's greatly appreciated. There's no telling who all you find in this game. You really can't count anyone out.

He doesn't say there will be 24 Characters being selectable right off the bat. Those 12 "hidden" characters are actually apparent to the player in the form of being greyed out, hence Boon's newest statement.

Here's the quote... word for word:
__________________________________________________

ED BOON:
" The main grid of characters that you choose from is gonna be 24, but there's gonna be more than that in the game. You know we really wanted to have a lot of stuff that's hidden in the game that's not even apparent on the main select screen.

These modes start out with a smaller number of characters and then they grow to the full... uh... full size, as you unlock things in Konquest mode and the Krypt and all that.

We really wanna kinda tease players with what else is buried inside the game."

Regarding the character number...I expect to see a 5x5 grid. 24 squares for the initial characters and the middle on for your Konquest character. Then maybe after you beat the game with every character or some insanely ridiculous time consuming thing, then the game adds on an extra row of 5 squares on the bottom. Maybe this is where we will see heavily rumored characters like Sektor and Sareena pop up... I've always figured 30 chars for this game would be overwhelmingly good.

The one thing I don't want to see again is the "hidden off the select screen" secret characters like in MK4 and MK:DA. I think it's better if we had dragon icons or question marks again.

Yes! Totally agree!

We should have no idea which "Hidden" character is placed in which square on the select screen.

Imagine how awesome that would be for someone who knows nothing about MK:Deception and plays the game for the first time and sees 12 Question Marks instead of shadowy outlines of characters.

Combine that with the RETURN OF THE OLD-SCHOOL UPPERCUT (Man that is the greatest news yet!)and the true feeling of the old Arcade MK's would be be back in full force.
