My guess is......that Shao Kahn is behind Liu Kang's ressurection, AND of Goro's. I think that's why they're coming back.
I think Shao Kahn is starting to bring back dead guys to start his own war, to take back what was his. How many bucks you wanna bet this is the case, people?

Its a good theory but we want Kahn and Goro to have some better storylines than that.
Who thinks Havik's ending was hinting at something?
Also I think Kahn's and Goro's trading cards also hinted at their komeback too!

Onaga didn't do it, man. It's confirmed.
Anyway, I am willing to bet that what I said is, indeed, the case.

Liu Kang was brought to life by some assailant, it says. Trust me, if it was Onaga, they would've said so. They just keep referring to some outside source throughout the MKD storyline.

Yes and acording to another memeber here on an online chat it was confermed 100% goro DIED in MKTE and that MKTE IS CANON. so it has to be ghost goro or else his bio will have to invovle him being resurrected. I hope it is zombie style and hes missing an arm or something to make him look extra morbid.

good thread..
i think goro is out to save the princess or stop kahn, thats if he's good, if he's not, i see an alliance between him and kahn, like shang and quan, or noob and smoke, but i keep going back to what shujinko said. " Sworn Enemies Join Forces To Kombat A Greater Threat "
it could be anything, they could be working with onaga, or for him like someone already said, but kahn's storyline is pretty obvious i think, ( Control of Outworld ) but if he were to defeat onaga, he would be in complete control, if you notice, after u beat the game, the amulet is missing behind Onaga, that could mean many things.. ( which i called before the game even came out, look for the thread The Amulet that NOBODY responded too
j/k )
but to keep the story balanced, it could be kahn = bad, goro = good
or they can both wind up canon, lol

No, he wasn't. He was just representing his people. Kuatan, Goro's realm, was under Outworld's control. Therefore, they were qualified to enter the tournament in Outworld's name. However, its a known fact that Shao Kahn favored the Shokan, as he constantly used them in his endeavors. Because of this, Goro felt that they were a strong and mighty people. Therefore, when he was asked to compete in the tournament, he did so, not so that Outworld could take over Earthrealm. He didn't care. He only wanted to make his people proud, prove that they were a great nation.
Goro's not a bad guy. When he returned, he was working with Kitana to spread peace. I guess after his defeat at Liu Kang's hands and Shao Kahn falling off, he began to think. Before, war and violence was all he knew, not that it made him a villain. It's just it was to be expected and therefore you must deal out the damage if you want to stay alive. But once he was defeated by a mere mortal, and seeing that the same mortal who beat him beat Shao Kahn, well.....I'm sure it made him wonder about things.
So, it's not that he's a bad person. He's no tyrant or power-hungry monster. He just believes in doing what must be done, and what must be done is making his people proud. After all, he is their prince.

Im a bit confused at Goro coming back. Wasnt Noob Saibots MK:TE ending true? Anyway its not as if dead character havent come back. Anyway, i think they need to make Shao Kahn the same size roughly as other characters, as in Konquest he is Human sized. It will look weird fighting as this big bulky character. its great theyre both getting fatalities too.

Yeah, with Goro, I guess we're getting the old ressurection story going again. LOL

Goro -
After dying for the 500th time, Goro is back, and madder than ever.
And that's the extent of his story i'm guessing.

Maybe they can make a cartoon out of Mortal Kombat...
"OH MY GOD...THEY KILLED GORO! YOU BASTARDS!"
