Okay. This may have been brought up once before I am not sure. The term decption means to deceive, or to trick us right? In that case, even if you look at the MKD artwork, the Dragon King resembles Shao Kahn a whole lot. We will not know exactly is the Dragon King is a totaly different character, or one resurrected. Think about it though. It does make a little sense. After loosing the tournament, Shao Kahn would suffer Eternal Damnation according to the MKII comic you ordered from the arcade game. Maybe the eternal damnation was the egg itself. The monks guarding the egg didn't want it to hatch, becuase they knew what evil the Dragon King was in the past. Plus, the Undefeatable army resemble Princess Kitana's guards from MK Gold in her ending which used to work for Kahn. Other points to think about. The ultimate deception would be to have Shao Kahn return from wherever he went, also that is why Liu Kang, and a bunch of the older fighters could return. Blaze is another factor to consider. MKII had Kahn, and Blaze was in MKII's Pit II backround fighting a Liu Kang looking fighter with green striped pants. Here we called him Chow Kang, becuase Liu Kang had a twin that had been missing once again according to the comics from Midway. Of course there are so many possibilities with MK, but in my opinion, and maybe mine only perhaps, I don't know. But, The Dragon King does look a lot like Shao Kahn. confused

Maybe it's an original new character and Reptile is just his slave.

I'm going to agree with DMitch on that one. Reptile is more than likely his slave now. Even though this is true, doesn't mean that Kahn will not return.

Come back to us Kahn, we need you.

All you Kahn lovers need to give it up. KAHN IS GONE AND IS NO MORE! The only way I bet he will be in the game is in the opening FMV and a slight chance in konquest. But dont expect him to be playable or come back as the boss and no Kahn is not the dragon king. Man all this Kahn stuff is getting old....way, way, way to old!

Kahn ain't dead. Midway hinted that. So what's to get over? He won't be in the game as playable or a boss, but it would be cool to see him as a hidden guy

Man I thought Shao Khan was going to be playable in Deadly Alliance. I mistaken him with Hsu Hoa. How pithetic that is. I hope he is playable in Deception as a hidden character or some sort.

Shao Kahn is not the Dragon King!

The egg in the Lava Shrine was the last part of the Dragon King. This had been around while Shao Kahn was the emperor of the Outworld.

It is impossible for Shao Kahn to be put into that egg, that is evidence that Shao Kahn is not the Dragon King.

The only common thing between those two characters is that they both have been in control of the Outworld at one time. Shao Kahn's time as emperor is up, I would rather have Shao Kahn become a regular fighter.

Probably because the name he had before Hsu Hao is Kublai Khan or just Khan.

While I don't think the Dragon King is Shao Kahn, the MK team has already stated we haven't seen the last of Kahn. They claimed he was a powerful entity and wasn't one to be destroyed easily.

Shao Kahn is certain to return one day, though I think Outworld will be firmly in the DK's hands for quite awhile.

But they did. Im sorry to dissapoint. Im sure someone can point out some kind of "evidence" for you, because I myself read this, and it wasnt in any kind of fan forum. Kahn will indeed return, like it or not.

Back when I wasn't a forum member at this site back in 2002, that Dec of that year a fight night was held with some of the MK team. During that chat questionaire, the MK stated that we haven't see the last of Shao Kahn. Of course like most things, people will take that differantly. Like he could be dead, or he could have survived and went into hiding. To me personally he is dead, and he will be back in a ( I hope) a far future MK game( of course he will be in MK: D's Konquest). Again people think he will return in MK: D as a Kombantant or even might be Dragon King, and there are people like myself that hopes that Kahn only makes an appearance in Konquest and Dragon King is Dragon King and not Kahn. I would like to also point out during the same fight night , the MK team did say that Reptile will have big part of the return of Dragon King or even they did say Dragon King has return through the means of Reptile. Either way I am sure they said something like that( check MKonline's fight night chat transcript.

Khan looks NOTHING like the DK fool.

maybe the DK in raidens ending had the same armor as Khan and he did look alot like khan, but the new images and the gameplay images from E3 are a revamped DK and he no longer looks like the Dk from raidens ending and they now look nothing alike.

and yes SHao khan is still alive and u will see that in MK:D intro 1.
and Boon already stated that he will play a minor role in this gamebut also stated SHAO KHAN will play a MAJOR role in mk7, at fight night.

Boon also said that reptile was the DK or said it to make it sound like reptile was the DK, but i doubt reptile is the DK, cause in another interview boon never mentioned reptile but was talking that the intro will show how the DK body came back to life and how he was reborn, and in that interview it sorta sounded like he wants you to think it is reptile but it actually isnt.

He was trying to fool us, and no shoa khan and the DK are not the same, when DK died shao khan ruled u fool, and when khan is injured now DK is back and they look NOTHING alike.

I don't think Midway would give the dragon king a dual identity like that. I mean, they played around with the Shang Tsung thing for 4 games, the Shao Kahn thing for 2-3 games, and the Quan Chi thing for 2 games. I know they're trying to play on the whole nostalgia idea, but bringing back Kahn doesn't seem likely. There's already enough re-iterated characters and backgrounds, I don't think they would be that foolish to re-iterate a key plot character like Kahn -- bad marketing move -- what new stuff would there be then? After all, I think they introduced the DK in deadly alliance so they could set themselves up for this new character in deception.
I know Khan is back i just pray and pray that he will be playable. Who cant love a big badass emporer on a rampage to take over earth.
