He was the only boss in MK that i actually liked!

Also we dont know much about his background etc... so i would like to see that explored in the game, maybe even having his own boss story mode or sumfin... where you can play as him lol

I also liked Motaro, where the first time i saw him was in mk3 and he looked really cool with all the moves and that

but in mk armageddon lol, even though he only had 2 legs (becoz of sum bullshit madeup curse) his overall design was terrible compared to mk3

so i would like to see him return in his proper form just to see how he would play in 3d with his 4 legs etc...

i woudnt mind quan chi and ermac making a comeback in the game aswell.

I agree, Shao Kahn should return as a playable character in MK8.

As for Motaro in my opinion, I can do without him because of his MKA appearence. Since then I was disgusted with him (MK Team's fault tho), but still. The reason why Motaro was switched to two legs was because he wouldn't really work with four legs in 3-d.

Ermac and Quan Chi are great characters, but they have to go in my view. I liked Ermac's costume in MKD, it was cool.

I for one say that Shinnok should be concetrated on a lot, and brought back in MK8. He has to be explored a lot more, especially as a sorcerer.

Shang and Quan has done their bidding!

Nah. He's a great boss and character, but I liked it when the Deadly Alliance killed him... but then we found out it was a clone, just like we found out Liu Kang was a zombie, except the latter was kinda cool in a goofy way.

I really don't want to see him as a boss again even if he does return. The bosses in MK have always been either sorcerers, giants, or both. I'd like to see some badass evil martial artist for a change as a boss.

Since it's a start afresh game, I think someone who so strongly represents the ultimate boss role of the old games is out, unless he returns in a completely unexpected new role.

Holy Christ, I don't know why noobs always fucking spell Kahn's name wrong. *facepalm*

Anyway, as him being my favorite MK character, I would love to see him come back, but I'm doubting the possibility of it happening.

This is supposed to be a new re-invented fighting game. Why should we have the same "fearful" boss we've had the last 2 decades. It's time to let him go. He needs to turn in the crown for a new scary, yet dangerous, deity. Drop him and get someone who is new, fresh, scarier, stronger-- looks-wise and moves-wise. With the new GOW look, I don't want to see a man in his underwear and a skull mask running around, I want something violently scary that'll make me shit my pants each time I play him.

This brings up some more questions. Is there going to still be an Outworld and all of the other realms?

If there is still the other realms, who will be the Ruler of Outworld, A totally new character?

He should, but he won't. MK8 is all about a change of pace, and Shao Kahn has been in just about every game since MK2 in one form or another. Expect a new threat to Earthrealm.

I like Shao Kahn and I don't think he should return. As the big defining villain of this era, logically, he should end with it.

I would like to find out more about Shao Kahn and his background, though. Maybe they can devote a future adventure game to him, explaining his origin and rise to power.

IF Shao Kahn is to return, he must NOT be Emperor of Outworld again. That's over. If he comes back, they should have de-powered with no army and no allies just trying to survive and regain his strength. Pit him against new and bigger threats than him.

I would also say Reiko would most likely to take over as ruler of Outworld, but if Bo's ending is canon, he would be the protector of Outworld. How would that work if it's true? Maybe with Raidens corruption, he could become the ruler....?

If Shao Kahn gets killed, I think it would be cool if he began a quest to conquer the netherrealm. (off scene and not in MK8, only vague clues that he's in the netherrealm) He is the conqueror after all, always having the presence of a king. Since he’s stuck there, he decides to take action.

But he wouldn’t be alone, due to the soul pledge (I just think this is a cool revelation), he has a whole army of his minions. The weaker ones dieing off. While someone like Reptile or Baraka (half oni already, so he'd have an advantage) becomes his head general as they continuously fight for control.

I’m usually not for returning bosses, but I think that would be wicked if he returned in a later MK (MK9 or MK10, not showing up until then) after seizing control of the netherrealm. His appearance really warped from the evil within that realm, returning attempting to merge the earth with the netherrealm.Feel free to give opinions, in fact that’s why I posted it.

Dude, he was only the boss in 2 games... MK2 and MK3 (same shit as UMK3 and MKT - I only count it once).

Shang was boss before him.
Shinnok was a boss after.
Then the Deadly Alliance.
Then Onaga
Then Blaze...

And to top it off, he was really only in 3 games. MK2, MK3 and MKA. If you want to get all gay and technical, you can count MK Unchained. But even if you do, he was only boss 2 times. I consider him a subboss in MKA, only because he's sometimes fought before you get to Blaze.

I'd love to see him back, but not as a boss or a subboss, and I would want him to be less powerful; a weakend and beaten former emporer who has to fight like the "normal" characters. Ever since Quan Chi came along, Kahn's title of bad ass was stripped, in my opinion anyway. So to me, Kahn hasn't had the spot light for the past 2 decades. For me, his reign already ended in MK3/MKT.

I agree! He is the symbol of brute force for Mortal Kombat. Besides, he is once again Emperor of Outworld, so he has to be in the game one way or another. Whether it be as a playable character, or as a background character.

Love live Emperor Shao Kahn!

Shao Kahn must die for good. He was cool back in the day but come on. They shouldn't recycle ALL the fighters. I agree for returning key ones as scorp, sub, raiden and a few but that's it. the rest is bye-bye. And in my opinion he's the uncoolest boss mk has ever seen. Shang Tsung is far better. I wish that they should not kill off Shinnok because if they did, he is the best example for wasted character. And I fucking hate the idea that a boss should be a beefed up fighter that uses brute force. WHY? The boss is supposed to be someone purely evil like Tsung or Quan Chi. Not a wrestling-like dumb-head. No offence Kahn. Actually he's the my favourite beefed-up fighter......... was, cause his time is over.

Shao Kahn is a great character. His story has been relatively unexplored, and I'd like to see him return. I doubt he will, but I think there is definitely room for him in the next game. I mean, of all the characters to survive, it would logically be the most powerful, and Kahn falls into that category.

I'd give him a new look, have him playable from the start (he should NOT return as the boss), and have him lose the hammer. Give him a more technical approve to his fighting, and just make him a malicious bad ass trying to regain his throne. But is he the greatest threats to the realm out there? Kahn could even walk the line between evil tyrant looking to once again take over the realms, and anti-hero.

I'd like him to return as a fully playable character.

Motaro is one of my favourites, but I do not think there is room to really bring him back. I wish they had gone with him selling his soul to Shinnok in the Netherealm to become this new two-legged fighter to compete with the Shokan so he can become the slayer of them all. He could become Shinnok's top agent, and be sent by Shinnok into MK8 as a fighter.

Shinnok should remain in the story, I feel. Definitely a good idea executed in a terrible way. I love the way it appears he never put his real power in jeopardy, though, and that his real essence has been sitting on the throne of hell all this time. I'd like to see him pulling some strings from behind the scenes.
