Shinnok was lame in MK4, but we must remember that the guy is

1. a former elder god.
2. waged a war on Lucifer, and won.

I will give him another chance in a future MK. Who would too?

sure why not, he had a pretty good story, all he needs is more original moves and a an upgraded appearance then he could be a guy to look out for

He had a great story but he played like a poor Shang Tsung rip-off.But if they were to give him a complete make over I think he could comeback.

He was probably rushed, Id like him to come back but not as a boss, he wasnt cut out to be that with his poor representation in MK4. Its a shame too.

I think Shinnok was just a Shang Tsung rip off.I like Shang Tsung's concept much better. An evil,shape-shifting sorcerer who consumes the souls of defeated warriors.
I think if they improve Shinnok's story and give him more original moves he could be a great character.

i had actually written a story for the inclusion of shinnok in my fan mk6 ideas. basically because noob saibot was shinnok's servant and he was very mysterious without too much story, i wrote that noob was actually shinnok's astral projection form (to explain noobs loyalty)

so because shinnok was overconfident he was beaten in mk4 and for him to be competitive in mk6 he would have to merge with his shadow form noob to regain his full power.

i wrote this because i thought there would be a name issue with noob saibot (coz tobias is no longer in the mk team) but i really liked noob so it was an effective way to include a noob like character but give him shinnoks story.

Shinnok has great character potential and needs another shot in a future MK game.

shinnok sounded so great in the mk4 comic...and then the game came out and made little mention of noob saibot and the brothers of shadow. and little mention was made in mk5 of shinnok and what happened to the brotherhood that worshipped him. he killed elder gods and battled raiden long ago...how could someone that important end up so lame and then be forgotten so easily. his look and special moves were decent in mkm so i do not know why they ruined him in mk4. quan chi was also better in mkm. hopefully noob's appearance will shed some more light on the fallen elder god who had a potentially great story.

Shinnok had some potenial, but a return, I think would be a mistake. Like a few others have said already, he felt like just a rip-off of Shang Shung.

Shinnok in MKM Sub-Zero: A "bad-ass" boss, great look and better rival.
Shinnok in MK4/Gold: Pathetic version of MKMSZ, a "rip-off" of Shang Tsung, bad rival and worse look.

Shinnok has massive potential but Midway fucked him up in MK4.

He should only return with a revamped look and completely original moves and combos. His storyline is really g00d.

I say give Shinnok another chance. His story was great, but the character itself does need alot of work. I can just see Shinnok escaping the Netherrealm again after the havoc caused by the Dragon King and/or perhaps joining forces with Shao Kahn.

Also, if Midway ever dusts off the old Mythologies idea I would want to see a little more of the history that there is between Rayden and Shinnok. Maybe it was Rayden defeating Shinnok the first time that gave him the office of Protector of Earthrealm to begin with.

Shinnock had a cool look, cool storyline but he doesn't have enough personnality to make it alone, he need a quan chi or a shang tsung in the back to manipulate him

I think Shinnok should stay dead, but I hope they give more details on how exactly he died, and who did it. He was cool in MKM, but he's had his time, and doesn't have the same coolness as Shang Tsung or Shao Kahn to make him worthy of a comeback.

His character needs LOTS of work! As a boss, he was the worst! He had a great story and so much potential but someone decided to flush all that down the toilet and they gave us a Shang wannabe that could'nt even morph properly! That was POOR!

If they can do a lot of work on Shinnok and make his story, look, moves and everything else original and decent, then bring him back by all means. Just don't expect anyone to appreciate another half assed job!

I must admit...the first time I EVER beat a MK game was in fact MK 4 because Shinnok was sooo easy. The dude was so freakin skinny, that I was shocked to see how easy it was to actually beat the game...They should consider adding him to MK Deception...after all, he might have played a part in his son Radien's death...

I APPOLOGIZE 4 THE ABOVE MISTAKES

You're supposed to freeze him ,then use a portal to get behind him and take his amulet, wich triggers his tranformation into a Demon thing.

Yeah, he even looked cooler in that game.

As for Raiden being his son, that was something they made up for MK Annihilation and is (thankfully) non canon
