There was a thread created about new rivalries, so how about one about new alliances, or possible friendships - especially from enemies.

Shao Kahn & Raiden can team up for the simple purpose that they cannot defeat the DK or some other very powerful entity by themselves. They require each others' help to do this. Afterwards they know they will go back to being foes...

Kabal & Mavado - hmm not really sure how this could happen, but would be a good twist somehow.

Kano & Sonya or Jax (not both) - once again they'd need each other's help for some kind of mission.
