I'll rather pay for xbox live than having to deal with gameshark/action replay cheaters on the sad joke that is the online ps2 network.
Have fun fighting people who cant die, or kill you with a single hit ;)

cheating? there no cheating.. the gameshark cannot hack into it.. those other cheaters are just bugs that where in the game in the first place.. plus its the manufactures fault.. anyway its not a problem since its from gamespy.. now are you gonna say that gamespy is bad?

when ever there are threads like this, i always gotta jump in, i dont want to be biased but this is what im told from people that have both PS2 and XBOX .... XBOX is better in every-way but the price to play online...
but dont take my word for it....just go to your local videoGame store and ask them whats better...i already know the answer
and ask more than one person there or more VG stores for a more acurate answer

I am getting it on X-Box although I will be using a PS2 controller for it. I had DA on the PS2 so this time around I figured I would give it a whirl on the Box but I have to use a PS2 controller for fighting games on it. It just works better for me that way. As far as the servers go I prefer the Microsoft servers better even though you have to pay for them. The fee breaks down to nothing per month.

Well i'm asuming you have Broadband. But it has been mantioned before that if you have a PS2, why buy a new system for one game(if that is what you were going to buy the XB for). Personally i'm happy with my PS2 though i dont have broadbandsad.

Now if this was a game like the first Splinter Cell where the game was way better on XBOX then I'd say go ahead and buy an XBOX... or if you're planning on getting one anyway then get the XBOX version. But if not then there's not really enough different to justify spending an extra $150.
I've got all the consoles but I'm getting the XBOX version because of the better textures, faster loading but most importantly because I just got an HDTV and some Monster Component Cables... and since it features HDTV 480p support, it's going to look SO MUCH cleaner. But again, in YOUR situation I'd probably just get the PS2 version, it'll still look good.

Yep I agree. I don't like these choose your system threads. I stopped playing fan boy for one system along time ago. I have both systems, and will be buying the game on both of them. I think you should get the x-box and the game. Then buy the ps2 version or rent it. Compare the load times and the graphics. Check out the control of both the games and then you make the choice. Don't ever go buy what others tell you. If you can't see it yourself don't believe it. And I hear everyone complaining about the online fee, for x-box. I have been online for a month now on live and have paid 20 dollars thats it. I bought a live kit with online play good for a year, from a friend for 20 bucks. Thats not bad. My friends are paying monthly for there FF game online for ps2. Yes I know that the ps2 MKD will be free. Make your own choice bro. DSB

I will say xbox and I will tell you why. On one of Ed Boons's interviews he said this hisself he said the MKD was about to be cancelled for online play for the ps2 because he had trouble with the game play online at first. I have both xbox and ps2 and I will be getting it for xbox live.

I would get the xbox and a copy of the game for the green machine. Why? For the harddive, and the great game line-up coming soon. Halo2, Doom3, and DOA Ultimate...which all feature online play.
Plus Boon and Inc. will probably have downloadable content for MK:D...seeing how they'll release a gamecube version with extra goodies, and then give them away for free via downloads for xbox and ps2 users...but...ohh...wait...whats that? Harddrive? Another $%#^ing add-on brought to you via Sony.

hmm.. the controls are better for fighting games like mkd for ps2.. but thats my opinion and i'v gotten way to firmiler with the ps2 controller... probley your the same.. then theres the online.. sony.. they let the publisher do there online for them.. but microsoft dosn't thats why they charge..
the load time.. eh.. not really a real significance... if you where fine with mk:da then you shouldn't have np... and then theres the fact about graphics... well... yeah xbox is better... but.. you can easily get new high def cables for the same price for a controller for xbox...
then theres the game collection for online for ps2.. comming next is after mk:d theres going to be kof 94/re, kof 97-00 bundle and even last blade 1 and 2 in one bundle.. both online... and then theres also tons and tons of racing like burnout 3.. that game is awsome.. and is more supirior to the box in the graphics department.. even though all the songs sux lol...
so all and all.. since you have the console already... save your money and get online for the ps2... trust me.. the ps3 is going to be out next year.. i start saving..

u can always tell a fanboy when they start rattling off future games. i'll say one last time xbox live is free for a year when u get the starter kit, which is about 60 dollers i think? in your situation if u werent interested in any other xbox games coming out i would just stick with ps2. unless u got some extra cash, then i would get a xbox. and the hi res cables arent going to bring the ps2 version up to the same graphics level as the xbox version. lol. but unless u have some extra cash get the ps2 version.
and in burnout how are the graphics superior to the xbox graphics. LOL. do you have stock in sony

Go thru the list that krymnsyn posted above, mark what's important to you for the game. The one with the most ticks wins!! Easy smile
But if you've already got a PS2 get it for that, unless your rollin' in cash and your gonna get into some xbox gaming goodness!
