Should MKD's reverals be more DOA like?
As much as I love MK, I gotta give dead or alive credit on there reveral system..its unique and creative, each character has there own way and they counter attack with a stylish move.. yet the games still repetitive..anyway I was disapointed to see that reversals were only given to SOME characters in MKDA and yet they were done in a wack and boring way..I wanna see (example) Sub-zero grabing an opponents punch and following it up with a sick move (DOA Style) that would up the stratedy and gameplay by alot.. and not to mention realism of actual martial arts.. well lets see where time takes us and hope for the best.. What are your thoughts on this?

God No. I love DOA but after awhile they just became to easy and alittle annoying. I like how they were but not how easyily they were done (if that makes anysense).Good for DA but no for MK, i do think they need a good reversal system but not as simple as DOA's

I agree, I think the reversal system will improve either in MK:D or the following game. I don't see MK relying too heavily on the system where only certain characters have reversals and they all do the same thing.

in MK they should make it more complex and harder to do, like pressing block+kick does one type and block+punch does another type..timing should be mere perfect and you cant cheap out your opponents with it..they should have a timer for reversals..like 1 every 5-10 seconds.. Yet also being more unique..I just used DOA as a close example.. Heres one example..Scorpion kicks kenshi, Kenshi grabs his leg and kicks out the other leg, and maybe throwing him up in someway..allowing the character to follow it up with a kombo.. or a unique throw of some sort would be coo.. I dunno im jus a fast paced fighting kinda guy whos a die hard MK fan.. jus wanna see some more crazyness thas all =D

Well obviously i didnt read ur intire post i really should do that before replying.
But ya if it was not as simple, but still not impossible then hell yes. They need to find a nice medium between the two.

The only gripe I have with DOA is that the reversals are waaaaay too easy to do.
If they were more like in VF or Tekken where you need to either block the previous move, or catch the first attack, then It would be much better.
I love how the reversals look in DOA though. I would love to see reversals look like that in MK, maybe even more intricate looking and sometimes they could make use of their powers too.
So my answer is a big YES!
Make them look kool like in DOA3, but make them harder to do like in VF4.
That would be perfect.
Variations for the reversals could be:
Throw
knock down hit
Stun hit
Combo starter 1 hit, or a quick small combo.
throw chain starter
pop up
Sway
Parry
struggle hold
Submission hold
Bone breaker
Special power related attack
Then the attacks would look different if you counter a left punch, a right punch, a left kick, or a right kick.
Then also if the attack is high, med, or low.
So the same as in VF4 basically, but a lot kooler looking.
I hope the combo breakers are like this in MKD and not like in KI where you only have one move that breaks combos.
