Should we have gushing amounts of blood or realistically flowing blood in the next game?

I was remembering the intro form MK5, and how the blood feel realistically when Liu and Shang fought. THink mk6 should have realistically spilling blood, or let the bodies hit the floor and have buckets of it?

I personally feel that realistic blood will bring back the darker feel that is needed in the games.

i agree.i think realistic blood would be better. i also think the fatalities should be more realistic. ed boon said that reality is boring,i disagree, reality can be very dark and scary!alot of the mk fatals are so unrealistic that it is not dark,it's just stupid!reality is the way mk needs to go!!!!!

i think the blood gushing is fine, however i would really like to see realistic damage effects - eg. a sword slash mark on an arm can gush a lot of blood, but i would like to see a big slash with blood running down the arm and a bit on the clothes, rather than a smudged red mark.
also a big round stain on the clothes with blood streaks running a little down the clothing for an impale.
i have faith that something like this will happen - and was close to happening in mkda as it was said that the characters will be "hardly recognisable"

I agree with Ko-Ja, I think that MK needs to keep the massive amount of bloodspill, but make the fatalities more realistic. As a game maker you don't want things to be completely realistic because then you don't have anything to fall back on when politicians, concerned parents, etc. talk about how violent the game you make is. If the blood spill level is unrealistic you can use that to defend your game. Say that the fatalities are over the top (while keeping them still somewhat realistic,) and that the blood spill is really over exagerrated, and nobody can argue with you. Plus, I think Ed Boon is right when he says that reality is boring. Reality is disgusting too. Nobody really wants to see somebody die. So make the deaths completely elaborated.

I think a combination of both types of bloodletting in the next Mk people

Gushing blood from massive combos and large gashes from weapons that are implaed into arteries etc etc.

More subtle blood flow from smaller hits and single blows like a single punch to the head.

I agree with you sairus. Having realistically flowing blood in the next game as opposed to having gushing amounts would give a much more realistic feel to the game.

Yeah, I'm completely fine with the unrealistic amounts of blood during gameplay. I think it's kind of cool. But fatalities should be more realiistic and more violent in my opinion. I like the style of fatalities in MK1, where it was over the top, but semi-believable. Even the scorpion/kung lao style of fatalities are fine from MK:DA. That style is what they should be going for.

Well, you should be able to adjust the blood level, oh wait you can, anyway... maybe a realistic level... no blood... and then buckets of it... realistic fatalities umm.. well I liked Kenshi's and that was totally unrealistic, as well as scorpions... better fatalities, but more brutal and better looking, not realistic... and if politicians told me to change my game.. free speech, fuck off, fuck censorship, people should raise their kids instead of having no life other than blaming others for their own mistakes...

Remember if it's too realistic the censors can just say it's not allowed rather than certificate it!
Alternatively a slightly exageratted attempt at the sae thing can be easily overlooked!

i think a cross between their usually style and added realism! My only quibles were quan chis neck stretch and sub zeros skeleton extraction, i'd rather he just yanked out the spine to be honest! but still!

Well if you dont like buckets of blood you can turn the blood down to med and it looks more real. I like to have tons of it cause its just nice to see tons of blood poor out of someone after you hit them.

MK6 can have both. Like you can turn off blood in MKDA, you could just have two choices, realistick blood, and gushin buckets..? then everybody would be happy.

More visible damage on the opponent would be cool too. And what about a blood-meter. Like in the trial of blood?
