Shouldn't the MK team focus on the fighting even MORE?

The UK PS magazine Play made a very interesting statement about Midway focusing way too much on all these extras. I can understand Konquest, since it plays an important part in the story. But Puzzles and Chess Games just seem a bit out of place.

I KNOW they are fun and I KNOW they will prolong the game's lifespan but I would much rather Midway put more effort in adding another 6 or so characters and put more effort in single player.

Midway can add so much to MK the fighting game yet they put their efforts elsewhere. The only extras I would really like are Konquest and the Krypt, everything else seems out of place.

Why not just release an MK game full of these minigames.

Why do I think this way? Cuz I feel there are some characters that have been left out and some features (voice acting and FMV endings for example) that could've made it into the game if Midway puts more effort into the actual game.

I don't have a comment for all of that, but I heard the endings will be FMV...

If mk staff was to add more fighters than we know are in the game and release mini games I am sure people would still find a reason to complain about what they did not get. Or what should have been put in. The game is to far away to start knit picking yet. Have faith in the MK staff.

EXACTLY!!!

In the time it took the MK team to add the minigames, We could have had one or more of the following:

1- Voice acting for each of the characters
2- More characters and arenas
3- More combos
4- Unique throws for every character
5- Advanced bruising and ripped clothes system
6- Combo breakers (that stop a combo dead in its tracks)
7- Broken limbs
8- New fatalities
9- Unique character intros before the fight
10- Unique winning poses

JUST THINK!?

You make it sound as if all they spent there time on was the mini games, i'm sure they worked on other aspects of the game like the ones you listed so far. It's not like they spend 24/7 on the mini games, also there are several members on the MK team, i'm sure there is a division that handles Fatalities, another one who handles gameplay, and another that handles mini games, it's too early to nitpick anyway.

MK has gone too commmerical, I don't expect true fun fun elements for the sake of being fun.

What do you mean, "too commercial"? If anything, they were more commercial back then, hense the huge commercial success they had back then.
