Shujinko is allowed to travel in the Netherealm... But aren't only evil souls allowed there?

(I'm basing this on MKM: Sub-Zero, the N64 version, where the cinematics were turned into pictures with words at the bottom of the screen, so they might be different from the PS version)

My memory isn't as good as it used to be, but I'll give it a shot. Near the end of the game MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero, before Sub-Zero fights Quan Chi, QC tells Sub that the only reason he is allowed in the Netherealm is because his soul was tainted with evil; at the end of the game, Raiden confirms what QC told him. If that's true, then how is it possible that Shujinko can go there? Do you think in Konquest, he'll have to do something evil enough to allow him passage; or do you think that the guys at Midway will just disregard the whole "only evil souls go to the Netherealm" and he can go regardless of his allegiances?

Good point, MK Mythologies did kind of made the whole "only evil souls may exist in the netherealm" an integral part of the storyline. Though I dont like it since it contridicts the storyline, my bet is they will disregard that storyline. But who knows, maybe Shujinko isnt all that pure. Afterall he does start out as a teenager and teenagers have ambitions.

Maybe he'll have his own story of jealousy or revenge that ends up making him do something evil (example: kill a rival, a former friend/lover over a silly skirmish)?

Those with evil in their souls, IMO, refers to imperfect mortals. I think Liu Kang, etc, would be able to enter the Netherealm.

In the original MK, the reason Liu Kang's fatality didn't turn the screen black was that he was pure, according to John Tobais. In MK2 they dropped this whole shtick though.

I think several characters could've entered the netherealm though; basically any Mortal Kombatant who's killed someone, which Sub-Zero had.
I don't know how they will work this out, but Konquest looks interesting.

Maybe its that he COULD be not always. Maybe you can juggle him between good and evil. And doesn't anyone remmber from one of the movies where he knocks down a villger the movie said something like "it will have diffrent affects if he does this alot"?

The think I don't understand the stupid elder gods seem so powerful. But they can't even get the Medallion on there own. I mean they seem so powerful they should be able to know where it is and everything. Instead they send shujinko on a wild goose chase when they probably no where it is. I think that there will be some huge twist with the elder gods when MK ends. I think they make the ballance of good evil. So ppl have to fight or something.

maybe that is when sujanko is introduced to fatalities and death traps. once he starts learning to kill he will be allowed into netherealm
