So do you unlock Havik, Hotaru, Li Mei, Tanya, Raiden, Lui Kang, Jade, Noob-Smoke, Shujinko and Kira by buying the koffins in the Crypt or do you unlock them in Konquest?

Shujinko is unlocked after you finish Konquest. The others are unlocked in the Krypt by using keys acquired in Konquest. There is a stickied thread at the top of the page that has this information.
