It's just a dumb lineup. I could live without Cage in a game. Don't think that's all of it, and don't try to peg me. We have enough ninjas. Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile. Get rid of the rest of them. There's a reason they've been gone this long. ....and come on guys, Nightwolf was made fun of ALL the FREAKIN time around here.... remember all the village people images with him and Stryker. He's just pathetic. You act like you haven't oticed the forums getting less and less visitors all the time. I've noticed.

I know I will.I think the character line up is fine.I'm glad to see all these classic characters being given a second chance.I think it's stupid and ignorant to judge the new characters when you haven't even seen them in action.Oh well,everybody has the right to their own opinions.

li mei is no where close of being a rip off of mileena, why because she had mileena weapon in mkda that automactically makes her a ripoff. give me break, she has own storyline(in which is cheesy.. mk deception she will have a better storyline) 2 she wears purple that makes her a ripoff so what she wears purple. even kitana wore purple in mkda does that make her a mileena ripoff. enough of calling li mei a mileena ripoff, li mei will have her own weapon, since mileena is in mk d.

as for tanya she no where similar to Kitana and Sonya. she has different moves from them in mk4 i dont know why you say tanya similar to them.

im happy with mk deception lineup, the only problem i got is liu kang coming back as a ghost/zombie. i hope sareena and sektor make it as well since both of them dislike subzero.im looking forward to play with all the new characters as well.

I do not like the line very much.It could be alot better.Baraka, Mileena,an Kira so far.Thats about it.

Nightwolf is one of my all-time favorites, what is so bad about him? Cool moves, He's the only American-Indian in the game, his weapon is badass. I don't get it?

My only complaint is I think that more human characters should have returned like cage and jax, but i dont think there is one MK character ive ever DISLIKED. I like them all on SOME level, thats why i play this game. Actually, I take that back. I've hated one character in my entire time of playing MK, and his name is Mavado. Stupid stretch-arms, lamest fatality ever (lamer than the neck stretch) I can't even go on. Lets hope Kabal kills him, and does it brutally.

Other than that, I think all of the MK characters are great and original in some ways. I like some less than others, but like them all overall.
by the way, I was replying to johnny_cage_win's posts, not flaming just curious as to how he can be so disappointed. the fatalitys look extremely promising too. i haven't played it yet and i'm confident its the best mk ever. besides, everyone thinks mk2 is the best, but imo 3 is the best because the run button made fighting strategic and i loved the new characters that are now classics (nightwolf, kabal, the cyborgs, etc) and, mk3 had tons of ways to finish them off. my favorite part of mk games. so for me, mk3 was the best, but everyone will argue its part 2. mk3 was faster combat, i liked that, more finishers, like deception. so yeah ill say its something like mk3 due to the returning line-up and speed of the game, but its still got an mk2 feel, its really an interesting blend. oh, and lets not forget ermac, my favorite ninja below scorpion.

The fighter selection is more dark and sinister. Baraka, Noob, Mileena, Skab, Sektor (maybe), Hotaru, Scorpion, Ashra................. it's MK all over. It was characters like Sonya, Jax, Kung Lao and (I don't wanna say it but....) Johnny Cage that were making the story "corny" and "predictable". Deception is looking decevingly good.

I think Deception has one of the worst casts in MK history. The only redeeming qualities are the new characters and Baraka, pretty much. :S
The roster looks decent, but not more - almost all of my favourite characters are absent, and some of the worst characters in UMK3 and MK4 returned. :/

I do like that they keep changing the roster though. It could get a bit too monotonous if all the games had identical rosters... So, I'm not too annoyed by MKD's roster, but MK7 better have all my favourite characters!

I don't really hate any character. It's just that ALL of my favorites are gone. Heck, I need at least 1 to be happy! Well, to be honest, I kinda like Liu Kang, but not as a ghost or zombie, as the guy he used to be.
Now, about nightwolf... (oh, and I know you weren't flaming me, man, so it's cool.) Nightwolf is one of the characters I used a lot in MK3, mostly because he had Cage's moves, just re-vamped., and I didn't want to spend time learning how to fight, again. However, a lot of people really hated him in the past. If any of you were around even during Deadly Alliance's arrival, you'd realize that, just by the gay village people and crappy character lists. I don't know why I don't like him that well, all I know is I don't. But I definately DON'T hate him. I never hated any chracter, but I sure disliked a few. Hope that helps, a little.

As for the guy who asked if i would still buy it, the answer is--maybe. Not until i rent it, and even then, I will wait until the price is as low as it'll go if i do. I'm not spending $50 on a game i'm not satisfyed with. Again, it's just my opinion, and I'm happy that the rest of you are getting what you want. I'm just not happy. I'm not lying when I say others aren't, either. When the new GI hit my local Gamestop, Halo and MK were the big topics, and MK wasn't given much praise. Though I do actually want the game to do well, despite what I said earlier. I'm still holding out hope for my favs, but i doubt I'm going to be recieving any good news this time around. Oh, and MK is different than most fighters--you get attached to your fav fighter. I'm not just going to like a character because he fights well, I also have to like the story. That's why I'm judging them, man.

I hate to admit, but I think the MKD cast could have been much better. Why are Bo Rai Cho and Tanya in over far more important characters like Kung Lao, Quan Chi, etc? Was it really neccessary to bring most of the ninjas back at once? Ermac at least they should have waited, since Kenshi's back. And Ben, some average karate guy who looks like most other beat em up average karate guys, WHY Midway, why? And I think Liu Kang coming back so soon is a very bad move, keep him dead.

So that I don't come across as a whining bastard, I'm now gonna say what I do like about the character selection. I'm very happy to have Mileena, Baraka and Kabal back into MK, three of the coolest, most interesting characters of the series. And I like the look of Hotaru and Kira so far too, they could be new favourites for me.

That's the problem, everyone has different fav. characters. Personally I like most of the fighters that are in Deception. Smoke, Hotaru, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Sindel, Baraka, Ermac, the DK and Liu Kang. Plus some of the rumored character are even better - Sektor, Kung Lao, Reptile and Dairou to name a few, I definately hope those guys are there. So I guess it, like most of this website, is a matter of opinion and personally I'm excited to see the character select screen in MKD.

No Shang Tsung though...

I may agree with you on johnny cage but Sonya and Kung Lao were great. Sonya is a kick-ass character. She was sexy, deadly moves, and is the original MK female. Her story may be predictable but shes not the only one. Look at sub-zero, and scorpion. I dont care much for Jax, i always saw him as Sonyas sidekick.

I would have liked to see more of the originals that MADE Mortal Kombat ie Cage, Sonya .....

This is the most disappointing cast I've seen .. I am only excited at the return of Sindel and Mileena.

Absolutely. My favorite is Scorpion, and the two friends that are good enough to actually play MK with me have Nightwolf and Kabal as theirs. So we're gonna' have a great time playing MKD.

I think it's a really good idea that they are giving classic MK characters a chance to make use of themselves, unlike in MK3 and MK4. It's a smart move. All my favorites are back so far as well, except for Kung Lao and Reptile(who seems to be rumored right now).

I don't like Kabal and Smoke. Kabal's fatalities
are stupid,and Smoke is a palette swap of Scorpion. I also don't want Ermac,he's just a clone of Blind Kenshi anyhow.

Giving a chance to the characters so often neglected...Mileena, Tanya, Sindel, Nightwolf.
I'm quite glad that some of the others have been left out, as it gives us a chance to play as new fighters and enjoy some of the less used characters again.

Overall though, the cast is ALMOST perfect to me. All of my favorites are back, the only thing I don't understand is why we have heard NOTHING of Quan Chi, Reptile, and Kung Lao yet. Quan Chi more than anyone, I think, but I still believe he will be in. Kung Lao was supposed to be the new hero, guess not. Who knows, they are still expanding the roster as far as I know and the game isn't even close to being out yet. But for the most part, im very happy.

I'm with you on Liu, man. I agree with most people his story got annoying but he was one hell of a fighter. I loved all of his moves! His voice was annoying, but it never bothered me, we just always mimiced it and made fun of it...good times.
