...what are the ramifications for the storyline? Obviously, the theory about his death has been blown out of the water.

So it's obvious he'll be playing the role of guidance counsellor for the earthrealm warriors again. I think I can now see why Nightwolf is back - they're probably cooperating in a scheme to take down the DK.

But what I really wonder is what his connection, if any, will be to Liu Kang's corpse wandering around. I don't think he's behind Liu's 'unressurection', after all, he did a good job on Cage for MK4.

Perhaps he seeks Nightwolf's aid to put Kang to rest, or restore his soul?

Anyway, where before I could expect Kung Lao to be absent, I now believe Raiden's presence, plus Kang's, is a good indicator that Lao will be included as well. Opinions?

When people brought up the rumor of Raiden dying in the intro, they neglected to mention that this intro was probably going to be thrown out by the programmers.

Anyway, they'll probably just continue his old story, and use he character to bring in nightwolf.
