I was just at gamestop today and was talking to their manager and he said he came from some kind of conference about video games and gave me tidbits. You guys can take this information however you like.
Well the first thing he mentioned was that Baraka is supposed to be a XBox exclusive character. At first I thought he meant the collectors edition cases and he said that the Baraka character will not be in the PS2 version. After looking around the story for 15 minutes I came back to ask him again to test his legitamacy and tried to make sure that Baraka was on the PS2 and he corrected me and said Xbox so I think Im believing him on that.
Now perhaps the gold mine, he told me they are working on another Special Forces game with Sonya in it. He didnt say much about it except that it looks sweet, Sonya is the main character and she uses moves as well as guns, and there is 1 scene where she uses a tonfa. Thats the only thing I heard on that other than the name of the game doesnt make you think Mortal Kombat (he couldnt remember the name).

But hasn' Baraka been in the playable demos at eg gamers day etc, on the PS2 version. I dont think they'd be likely to do this imo.

The first thing you said about Baraka is most likely bullshit. No offense.
the second thing you said is my dream and although it would work as the reason MKSF flopped was because of the bad gameplay and a character with a low popularity rating. Sonya is a character you can relate to. She isn't a steteo type and is someone you can feel sorry for when she dies. Although another MK adventure game would be popular with Sonya, they most likely won't do it as for the crappines of MKM and MKSF.

Monsanto!!
The Runner up...
subzero961.
subzero961 is really an extraordinary person. He is being nominated for a story he made up about a new video game called mortal kombat deception. Special credit does to this D student, as we have confirmed that he was not under the influence of drugs when he wrote it.

WHAT EVER WHAT EVER, I DO WHAT I WANT! Yea it sounds unbealivible that a MANGER knows about a new MK game before anyone else... I smell something fishy... and it's not my mom!

Sounds like bullshit to me. I doupt the MK team would start working on a new MK game even though MKD isn't out yet and so they haven't gotten a public response. Not to mention that even if they had started to make a new MK game, I seriously doupt they would have already established a storyline and plot for the game, have time to make the areas and the Sonya model, so that it looks 'sweet'.

The only thing Baraka is exclusive to, is the Xbox COVER art for hmmm...lets see...Gamestop. That manager is a complete idiot, and your an idiot for believing him.
If there is a new Special Forces game coming out, I wonder if Midway knows this? No one, anywhere else, seems to know a thing about it. Could it be that it is just imagination? That's my guess.
If I were you I'd check your facts before you post something like this again.

Ouch, yeah that news is wrong man. Baraka is exclusive to Gamespot for the cover of the Xbox version of MK:D. Baraka the character is not exclusive to Xbox.
Whew! People get a little cranky when they smell BS. It's understandable. As for a Gamestop manager seeing a version of a new Special Forces game (why would the MK team make a sequel to one of the worst games in the MK library anyways?) before any rumors surface on the internet or any other actual news source reports it...I'm not buying either. No offense.

this has been discussed over and over. Go easy on him people, he can't search the forum and he probably hasn't heard this before. It is 110% not right, you should tell him it's just for the cover.

Hey! I like Jax, douche. Stereotyping in games is not a big fucking deal, you complain about this but then kill someone with a fatality? I'm Native American and Nightwolf is the most stereotypical character in MK, yet one of my favorites, go figure.

The game with the main character being a woman in green who uses in gun would be Nina from Tekken not Sonya and the game I believe is called Death by Degrees.

Thats just a guess...
Sounds like a Gamestop manager needs to go back to fries at McD's. grin
