Okay, so I'm finally willing to make the jump into the realm of online play with the release of Deception. But I'm literally clueless when it comes to the subject, so I'm hoping some of you guys can lend me a hand here.

-I have a PS2, and I have a broadband connection at home, so I know I need to buy the broadband adaptor, but that's pretty much all I know about getting set up. What do I need to do from there?

-I know Xbox has Xbox Live with the flat $50 yearly fee. But PS2 doesn't have that. Does anyone know what the rate (if any) is going to be to play Deception online?

-What are some of the online features for Deception? Is it just Vs. online? Or will Chess and Puzzle Kombat be online as well?

-Any word on online tournaments to crown the best MK player IN THE WORLD? I'd love to get my ass kicked.

-Will the PS2 version support the headset? I also love to have my ego crushed by trash talk.

Anyway, I apologize if most of this has been addressed, I haven't seen much about the online play so I figured I'd ask. Big thanks in advance if you can help.

That's it, as far as I know.

No extra fee for the PS2.

All three modes are going to be online.

No tournaments. Boon said that would be great next time but for now, simply getting it online is the main task, not perfecting it. sad

Xbox will. I don't know about PS2. Look on the case when buying it.

I'm mainly worried that the version I get will have less people. The Gamefaqs forums have more regulars on the PS2 side, but I think Xbox will be the system to get the game on. I may get it on both & try it for a few weeks to see which has the better community.

I would think PS2 would be the system to go for online play simply because they have a hell of a lot more systems out there compared to Xbox. Xbox does have the better online set up, though. In reality, it'll probably be pretty equal.

I think that you also need a connection cable from your modem or whatever to your network adapter on your PS2. I also got a reuter, as it makes things easier (and also more expensive).
Besides that, I think your pretty much fine with whatever else you have.
