well i was thinking about the use of the weapons on the next game i think they should be radically changed, I think weapons should be more realsitic, i mean in MKDA the beat the fuck outta you, triple sommersault and you still hold a 200 pund sword, GIMME a break, i drop my cell phone every 2 secs and they still hold their weapons after a couple of kikcs? like in mk4 weapons should be droped and could be take by teh adversary to do whatever he sants with it, even throw them or sell them whatever. and well talking about weapons i think kabal must have his hookswords and sindle a staff or sumthin cool

HAHAHA, although a your idea would impose a much more realistic battle, i'd have to disagree. I found it so annoying in MK4 if you dropped your weapon, it was almost to the point that it wasn't even worth it to pull it out.
However, Deception WILL feature stage weapons ( like that big spider axe thing ) and these CAN be dropped if you either A) get hit by your opponent or B) if you change styles.
So youll get your realism for the stage weapons, but not with the characters weapons in their styles. And that's the way i'd want it.

I agree that weapons should be dropped. I really liked that feature in MK4, but in MKDA, it also felt good not dropping them. Either way is fine with me. Dropping your weapon now would be good as you'd give the opponent only two styles to use against you then. Plus, you'd be able to pick up ther weapon and use it instead and have a fourth style.
Here ideas I posted before concerning weapons.
Given the extent of some of them, theyd probably never happen, but itd be cool if they did. Weapons should be able to be thrown. For instance, Kitana's fan throw, even though it used to be her special move, they turned it into her impale. If it missed, or was blocked you lost the fans. On walled stages, the fans should get stuck in a wall allowing for an attempt to retrieve them or maybe even have the enemy get them and use them. I suppose throwing swords and stuff would work as an impale or it could be implemented as doing a chunk of damage and shaving the enemy maybe. Also, they can be thrown low.
If weapons can be thrown, then obviously your going to want to stop them from hitting your. Basically, if its thrown low you can jump over it. If thrown high then you can either block (although thats not realistic). I also dont like the idea of sidestepping. That makes it too easy to avoid! In this case, three defensive maneuvers can be put in. Firstly, the opponent can deflect with their own weapon if they have it out and knock it out of the air to the ground. Secondly, they could dive out of its way in a given direction or thirdly, spin around the weapon and catch it out of the air if they are unarmed. Therefore, you have a defensive move for whether your unarmed or armed. The second one can be used in either case.
If characters can pick up weapons, then they should be able to mix and match their own weapons with another characters. For instance Kenshi using his Katana and one of Mavados Hookswords. In this situation, youd have a new command list (new combos/attacks) for your weapons and the damage you deal would either be slightly increased or decreased dependant on the weapon, but your movement speed would either decrease or increase slightly too to compensate. Youd also have a throw away command if you didnt want the opponents weapon and you can continue to use your own.

well.. they are WEAPONDS.. so i am gussing the stage weaponds are well swords big axes and stuff.. as seen on one of the pics of the psm. and the ign pic... anyway... hmm i like it that you cannot drop the swords.. but mabe we can let them take them out more slower like in mk4.. since to take out a weapond back then was harder because they had to actully take it out..

The Mk4 weapon system was horrible! I hated how when u would get hit and ur weapon would drop because u would never really get to pick it back up. If they made the weapons system like the Mk4 one, that could be one of the worst mistakes they could make

200 pound sword? Hah!
Being that so many people hated MK:DA's weapon system, I don't think that it should just be ignored. And, being that some people hated MK4's weapon system with a passion, I don't think this should be ignored either. This is why I think there should be a balance between the two systems.
I think that weapons should be drawn (in full motion), only a little faster than they were in MK4, but still leaving you open for an attack (but your opponent would have to move fast, in order to catch you. this adds much more strategy to gameplay.
I do think that weapons should be dropable, but, it should only be a little more difficult to achieve. For instance, it should take several blows to knock them from your hand.
I think they should also be to be picked up, and used, but the person who uses it would only be able to use a few moves with that weapon, as opposed to the owner of the weapon, who is more skilled with it. I think this would also discourage the stealer of the weapon from picking it up and using it, being that he/she can't perform as well, with his/her opponent's weapon.
This is just an overview of how I think the weapon system could be more versatile (and it definitely needs to be more versatile than that of Deadly Alliance...and not just the staged weapons). You might have a more interesting idea that I did'nt think of.
