Ok if the Deadly alliance defeated the heroes who set to fight against them thus destroying all of their enemies and securing their victory making all the realms theirs for the taking.... then why once the Dragon king regains his army does all of a sudden everyone up for resisting him now? I'd think the DK stepped in just in time to take over everything without ANY resistance. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi were made out to be this great threat once they revive the Undefeatable army in DA then Deception comes and the army is revived and the Dragon King returns yet earthrealm still has a chance to stop it. Is this utter inconsistancy or am I missing something?

Yeah, the storyline is pretty inconsistent.

Pretty much, you finish the game, they give you rubbish endings, and you have to wait until the next game to find out what really happened.

The defeated most of the Earth fighters that appeared in Deadly Alliance. Kung Lao, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Jax, maybe Frost and whoever else.
Sub-Zero apparently wasn't defeated, Sindel and Jade were in Edenia at the time and now they're coming to fight the Dragon King and the same can probably be said about Kabal and Nightwolf among others.

I understand that but the beginning of DA made it pretty clear that with the undefeatable army Shang and Quan would be "unstoppable" so why is the case different with the DK?

Some people on MKO seem to give more detailed stories on characters more than MKSTAFF, for some odd and apparent reason.

The Dragon King isn't invincible and can be defeated.
Shujinko claims he knows how to do it.
He needs Kitana as a bodyguard. Even if he did that just to fuck with Sindel or Liu Kang, it implies that their a potential threat to him.

And besides, would you buy the Earth warriors just giving up and letting the Dragon King take over?

Well, take out the Dragon King, his army goes down with him. The trick will be getting to him without fighting the undefeatable army.

I dunno if I buy that because it didn't affect the DK very much why would it affect that which brought him his Imperial power originally?

The gameplay, fatalities & tone is first & foremost.
The storyline is secondary.
Please, get over it.

Hey I'm just asking for a little consistancy, perhaps there is in fact a reason behind it. I have the right to be curious if I notice something that doesn't make sense, even if story is secondary if there is a story at all I think continuity should play a role in it.

Well... maybe the Army wasn't Udefeteable, maybe it was undefeated, cause gods never messed wih it... because there was never an inter-realm war.. but then Raiden Blows 1/2 of it to hell...

the movie said that it barely affected onaga...it said nothing about it affecting the amulet itself as well...so isnt there a potential that raiden maybe locked himself or someone inside of the amulet for partial control? or maybe he simply teleported while he "flashbanged" the DK i dunno but midway has already made the story so it will probably fit...but i do see problems in so many favorite characters in one tournament and we dont really know who is on what side...hmm

Take this into consideration..the DK is supposed to be the greatest evil power that ever lived in the MK universe.. and that army of his was mummified by his priest..which means they prolly made a pyscic connection between them and the DK and they would not turn on there own master.. Even if someone else posses the amulet.. And when shunjinko said he has what he needs (refering to the amulet) Keep in mind back in MK4 the amulet did alot more then jus control an army..it might bring the DK far more power then b4.. Now all thas left is his other medallion that sub-zero posses so if he goes to get that you can see a battle between sub and dk

You know, I asked the very same question about 6 months ago. IF the DK and his army were so undefeatable, then how did they die eons ago? Old age?
