Something I noticed about the Mortal Kombat story

posted08/18/2004 05:50 AM (UTC)byThis is something I have noticed about the Mortal Kombat story for some time and thought I might share it with yall now. Some of you guys might realize the same thing.
Anyways have you noticed that MKDA tried to explain MK3 more in depth. (i.e. Kano and Sonya fight, Sheeva killing Motaro, Shao Kahn killing Sheeva) and explained a little of MK4 (i.e. Scorpion's ending)
It also seems like MKD is going to go more in depth for MK4 (i.e. Tanya's further betrayal, Reiko, Jarek and Fujin in prison, Shinnok mentioned as one of Raiden's foes) and will probably explain a little bit more of MK3 (Stryker in prison, Jade being playable).
It seems like the new games also reveal more about past games which I think is good because I thought that MK3 and MK4 were the most vague MK games in terms of storyline. At least MK1 and MK2 had a comic book that explained it better. MK4 also had a comic book but it was still vague.

I think we need a lot more light shed on the outcome of MK4. MKDA did a damn good job of going more in depth about the MK3 storyline and what happened in many of the situations that went on in that game. However, I feel that one of the MK3 characters' wherabouts are still unknown, and that is Rain's. And most people here were disappointed with MKDA, DESPITE the fact that MKDA went into more detail with the storylines of past MK games (most notably, MK3). In fact, they IGNORED that fact and decided to bitch about "one fatality per character", "Quan Chi's fatality", "no stage fatalities", and "changed gameplay". And despite the fact that no one has even played MKD, people are still bitching about it, because of the gameplay or their favorite characters not being included, and even if MKD goes more in depth with the MK4 storyline, people are still going to bitch about it. I'm sorry I had to bring this up, but that's my two cents. And most of all, I would like to know who landed the final blow on Shinnok in MK4, and that still hasn't been revealed yet.

Wasn't it Quan Chi cause he had the real amulet? That was one thing pointed out in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, but then again it also showed Sonya get pulled off a cliff by Jarek even though she's in deadly alliance.

yeah, also Khameleon and Chameleon have not been explained either. Ill bet Khameleon will be explained, because she did get mentioned in Nitara's konquest in MKDA. I hope they go ahead and decide to give Chameleon and Meat a storyline and just explain briefly their role in MK3 and MK4 respectively. As for who dealt the final blow to Shinnok, I would like to know that too though Im almost fairly certain that it was Raiden, since it is known Raiden became an Elder God, but we dont know for sure.

Quan Chi didnt have to kill Shinnok for the amulet. Quan Chi has had Shinnok's amulet since Mortal Kombat Mythologies.

Exactly. Shinnok was given a bogus amulet in MK Mythologies.

That's what I mean, though. In the video, Shinnok tried to fry Quan Chi, but it was deflected back and killed him instead. I already knew about the fake one.

Nah, these characters never had any significant plot. They're like Mokap, completely stupid and not actually associated with MK, they're just extras. The only one of these extras that may have a chance of being introduced to the storyline, in my opinion, would be Khameleon.

If you lost one of Nitara's Konquest missions, you'd get a message talking briefly about Khameleon.
As for the story, I can't wait to hear about what happened to all of my favorites (Smoke, Stryker, Fujin, Reiko), and I hope that they do give the "extra" characters more story (Khameleon, Chameleon, Meat, and Mokap). What can I say, I love the stroy behind MK! Too bad it isn't an RPG...

True, but what Im saying is that they have a chance to finally have a storyline with the konquest mode. How are they not associated with MK? They are in the video games. Remember no secret character had a storyline, they had to give it to them in later games (i.e. Reptile in MK2 and Jade, Smoke, Noob Saibot in MK3 series). Its possible that they can make something up for Chameleon and Meat and make them quote "canon" even though I believe they are already canon.
