Spitting, speech and verbal taunts for poses and in battle

I was playing MKDA with Raiden and noticed how the characters watch the opponents movements. When the opponent is on the ground, they look down at them. I was wondering what would Raiden or one of the other characters be thinking at that point. I was thinking that maybe the characters could spit at the opponent or say something, a kind of taunt, once the opponent has been knocked down. Even blood could be spat if they’ve been hit in the face hard enough.

Also, at the end of a round, the character could kick the loser, spit on them or something of the sort and then go into their pose. And how about some speech in the poses?

Your thoughts?

i know what your talking about with the char.'s looking into each other's eyes. I also thought it to be an extremely KOOL affect. And i like your idea about taunting the opponents when they are on the ground, or something. But maybe not spitting, i think that would be going too far.

Perhaps whenever an opponent recieves a beating to his face, he can spit out a blood-loogie... similar to how Shang Tsung spat when Liu Kang clocked him in the mouth in the begining of the fight in MK the movie...

Cool idea. Added to the spitting blood idea, i would also like to see the opponent spit out some teeth as well once he/she is greatly damaged. I would also like to see blood drip from the eyes and nose.

I think the bad guys would spit. But not all of them. Mavado wouldn’t as he is too disciplined for that. Someone like Kano would! The good guys wouldn’t spit, it’s not in their nature to do so.

Teeth spitting would be good too. It’ll add to the dramatic effect of Kombat! And thanks again!

I agree 100%. I really liked the way they did in MKDA with the characters faces, how they would look up or down. It was cool. But I think it would have been much better if they spoke or said something.

Some characters like Rayden could speak in an ancient language.

Sonya has this tough sarcastic personality; that cool attitude. She could speak with awesome sarcasm and tough words.

Kitana could act “nice” and have this “fake polite” attitude that makes you laugh.

I really like this idea of Raiden speaking an ancient language. It can reflect his age and importance in a way.

Sonya doing what you said is perfct for her.

Kitana would be very stuck up imo. That fake attitude idea is great too.

I think having voices and able to be more realistic would be awesome. It would make the game feel more appealing and would be entertainning all the way. Didnt they have some taunts in MKDA?

They had taunts, but that was for the taunt movement when they recovered health. I remember Johnny Cage says 'You want some?'

Speech, poses and taunts would be cool. I do have to say one thing though. If they make Scorpion speak, he better sound like the biggest, baddest mofo in the game. He's a specter. Give him a real grainy voice. Something really haunting. (no pun intended)

So you're thinking sort of like what Shao Kahn did when you fought against him in MK:3? I like the idea very much! It brings more social interaction to the game. Excellent idea, Tgrant!
