You have to beat Konquest once to find it.

Ok I got him and all I have to say is WOW! He is awesome, he is completley old skool. No new special moves which is awesome. I think he is my fav character in the game now.

This is the exact way to get him.It is not BS as I have just unlocked him myself.Credit given to SpawnTheEternal from the Gamefaqs forums.
GO to Edenia, to the tent where you can see Jade. Before I went I already trained with Kang, and Fought him in Edenia. I beat Sub-Zero, Havik, and Scorpion. Then find Rain near the bottem center of the map. He'll threaten and say that he needs a cave or something to that effect. GO to Jade's cave, at the bottem of the map hidden away, and tell her of this and she'll say go tell him to go to the tent. GO find Rain again and do so. Head back and Jade has killed Rain. THen go to the tent. Behind it at 12 AM Friday night (that's late Thursday night) I found a chest, I KID YOU NOT IT IS LIU KANG OT KEY!
I relize this may come off as a lie, but I swear on my life I have liu kang. If it helps I already beat konquest and have every other person. I don't know how many variables may have effected this.
Again= Edenia, behind Jade's tent, 12:00 AM Friday Morning, or Thursday Night

It true...but you have to talk to Rain (middle bottom of the map...by some rock formations) and complete the tasks he and Jade ask of you...

You don't have to talk to anyone or do any tasks. I'm not even sure it has to be thursday night, friday morning. But everything else is right. Just wait on 11pm and wait around till 12-12:15 and it appears behind the tent. No need to talk to anyone.

i can't unlock kira for some reason but al least i can get liu knag now

you don't have to talk to jade or anyone. just go to the tent and wait till the time said in this thread and it will be there.

you seriously, seriously have no life. anyhoo liu's first fatal is very average. he summons fire for a moment then shoots a fireball and the fighter explodes. nothing too special. as for his 2nd fatal it is totally wrong and i have not seen the computer do it yet. u, b, f, f, 4 does not work at any distance and f, f, 4 is his flying kick so it cannot be correct. f, f, 3 does not work at any distance, either. f, f, 1 and 2 are his fireballs so those are out, too.
