Stage Fatalities Confirmed...

posted02/06/2004 06:03 AM (UTC)byThis might have already been posted but in an issue of Game Informer that i read the other day there was a 50 game features for the next generation game consoles... MKDA got number 34... Next to the name it listed a fact as it said and it states "Fan response to the lack of stage fatalities in DA was so overwhelmingly negative that Midway has confirmed their return in MK6" this quote can be found on page 56...

I know this has been talked about quite a bit amongst the mk fan base as well by the mk:team, but MK:DA is almost the restart of the franchise. In fact MK:DA reminds me of the original mk a lot. The levels in both games seem to have an ancient theme and feel to them. The way the characters where designed reminds me of the original mk, plus with test your might being in there it sort of to the feeling that theyre just remaking the original. So my theory is that MK6 is going to be to MK:DA what MK2 was to MK 1. Double the fatalities, Double the amount of special moves and attacks you can do, nearly double the cast of characters, double the amount of arenas, double the quality of the graphics, double the speed, double the secrets, and double the mint never mind.
All Im saying is I think this will be twice as better as MK:DA. Sure some stuff might not make it in the game, but every games content ends up suffering that inevitable fate. But I really think this game will do 90% of everything right. Im assuming MK:TE was using ideas from MK6 so Im sure we might see them game modes in MK6, other then tag team Ed Boon seems to think tag team doesnt flow right with the MK franchise. And with online capabilities Im sure there will be tournaments everyday and new clans popping up all the time. Now that Im done sucking up does this mean I get a free copy.

I think he means torn costumes.
And mister_satan666, I think the MK fans will feel a lot more betrayed if they leave stage fataalities out again, than they felt about lack of costume damage. And I'm sure Midway realize that.

just saying is all. bad shit might go down again and we might get 3 fatalities per character but no stage fatalities because of a glitch in the updated fighting system. anything can happen.

i was a lil dissapointed in MKDA in the fact that there was 1 fat per character, and such, but then i was like, ok, the game kicks ass, and most the fatalities where cool.
plus, its like the rebirth of MK. revived the franchise, got back to the basics like MK! was, and if MK^ is like what MK2 was to MK1 that be great, but i dont think there will be twice the fighters, but i do beleive that there will be more than one fat per fighter, and stage fatalities.

I to was pumped for the wear and tear feature on MKDA and was a little dissapointed when it wasnt there... all in all i think Midway will definitly come through with the stage fatalities because they saw what an uproar it caused in MKDA... yet then again they saw how good the sales figures where on MKDA even though they werent in the game...

And we did see something like that in 3d, goro's lair in mk4. Actually I was happy with the direction of the prison stage fatality and hope to see something original, even that was sort of like a mix and match version of the pit 3.
