The game to me in my POV is that it still possesses MKDA's cartonniness (sp?) I am really anticipating this game but they need to overdraft on the colour - its looking majorly cartoony.
Also another thing which sticks out like a tree in a empty filed is Rayden (I think its him). - it looks terrible.
My thoughts on MK are varied - I love everything about it apart from the graphics - its going to be awesome nonetheless but it still retains cartoon elements.
Just my 2 cents.

I'll be honest. From what I've seen from the trailer ,MK6 hasnt made a graphical leap. To me thats ok as long as it is a great game. I dont think MK: DA nor MK6 looks cartoony. MK: DA to me still is one of the best looking fighting games out .If MK6 looks cartoony what fighter looks realistic?

I'd say the characters still look much the same as those in mk5 in terms of `feel`- i'd agree they still look cartoony and could be a lot more realistic. (though i haven't studied the trailer that deeply)
What the last person said- i agree that the other arcade style fighters are cartoony too- but that doesn't mean any one of them HAS to be. I'd love to see tekken or virtua fighter 5 have less cartoony graphics too. And Soul calibur 2- with the BIG EYES AND TINY ANIME NOSES. Aaaaaaarrrrrrgh!

what Exactly do u mean by Cartoony ???

It's hard to say really- it's not that the proportion or anything is wrong par se- it's that it's quite blatant the characters are game characters. Maybe it's something to do with the brightish colours, or the roundedness of the models, or maybe it's lack of details on the people's faces, or the lighting- people's faces have soft shadows on for instance- perhaps the textures miss this. Perhaps it's that they didn't base the character's faces on real peoples faces... I don't know- but i know some other games on current gen systems look a lot more realistic than mk does. (like max payne, forbidden siren, devil may cry... look at jean reno's likeness in onimusha 3!)
Actually i think quan chi in mk5 looked pretty good. What bothered me the most was that the sonya and li mei's faces were so damn ugly- perhaps they are photorealistic and just not my type though. ?!

I agree, it is cartoony still. In fact the graphics don't look great. I am hoping it is a little darker than the video.

For fucks sake. MK doesn't look cartoony, it looks AMERICAN. %99 of fighting games come from Japan so everyone wants anime-ish fighting graphics and they're all thrown off when they see graphics modeled by americans.

About Me
Lui Kang was a good start. Sonya would be a good next choice.

Some people will never be happy until every character is running around in black leather, with neutral skin tones over a dulled-out background. Color is good, not cartoon-ish.

No for fucks sake MK looks too much like those imported games. The big point to me is it needs to look darker! Gloomy, doomsday like shit!

i never really thought Mk:da was cartoony but Mk:d does look a lot like Mk:da. I think thats a bad thing, i realllly hope its not going to look just like Mk:da. I mean it looked cool but its time 4 summtin new. Just maybe change sum stuff around to give it its own look.

I think it looks pretty real! Mileena looks very really as Qeuve said. I don't see why the graphics should be a problem. If the entire package compliments each other well and craetes a good game, then it shouldn't matter how good the graphics are! Also, the same systems are being used. To enhance the graphics to a complete new level would probably take the power of the next generation machines (PS3, Gamecube2, XBox2.)

MK looking realistic just dosent look right that's the reason why I love the MK series it has it's own style and feel. They should keep it the way it looks now.
