It's a new topic. You don't expect a newspaper to have a newspaper where they put all terrorism articles or one newpaper for sports. It comes everyday with the same topics. And if the topic is hot, it will be talked about for a while.

Smoke and others got plenty of thread coverage when they had pics released about them. He deserves epculation and coverage just as much as everyone else.

If you do not want to read the Raiden threads, don't do so. It is ironic that you add to the Raiden threads by creating this one to stop them! This is about Raiden too!

People keep making the exact same threads with the exact same questions which have the same answers on all of them

But concerning info on forums the only way what you've said about newspapers can be be compared are by different forums on different sites just like different newspapers by different people.

What you've said is newspapers repeat the same story because it's popular? I understand giving stories quite a number of pages but not going on about the exact same part of the story.

Just like everyone is going on about the same character from Deception on this forum, Raiden.

I agree with Saviour, stop posting in many and someone make a official raiden thread like Siduu101's Ermac thread, either that or just pick 1 of the current Raiden threads.


The same goes for any other character discovered in the near future.

I knew that this forum was going to be fill with Raiden's thread after watching the videos!

I have no problem with one character headlining the front page of the MKD section. My problem is that people are repeating the same threads(ones which didn't have any decent content the first time they were made). Now, if one person repeats a thread that was posted a month ago, I don't have a problem with that. It gets answered, and life goes on.

But if people flood the section with "Raiden has flies" which is right above another thread that says "Raiden Doesn't have flies!", we get problems. Instead of making a post to provide one's opinion, they make threads, which is not good for the front page at all. If someone sees a thread that says "Raiden is evil," people retaliate by making a thread that says "Raiden is not evil!" which is completely pointless. People have already decided what they believe his alignment is, and they're going to post the EXACT same thing as they did in the previous thread. People could just as easily post their opinion in the original thread, but they feel they'll have more of an impact if they state their opinion in a new thread. The topics end up having almost identical responses, which nulls the whole purpose.

If we keep raining the forum with Raiden threads, good threads will get buried and forgotten. Plain and simple.

Look if you don't like the Raiden threads don't read them. Everytime a character is confirmed the forum gets flooded by mulitple and sometimes duplicate threads. Get use to it. I myself try to limit my comments to one thread even though I may read them all, but if I read something that deserves or needs a response I will post a comment. (i.e. here)

Unless the mods want to make a stickie thread for every kombatant there ever was AND prohibit new threads in regards to characters you are going to get get duplicate threads. (In my opinion this is a bad idea, too much work to create and enforce) Just wait a few days and the Raiden threads will die down with only the most popular one(s) remaining.

Actually I'm also a little surprise at Raiden's sudden popularity. For a while I was hearing that the majority of members here wanted him dead, but with a change of clothes and eye color he suddenly becomes one of everyone's favs. *shrugs*

Funnily enough Tgrant has just done that, creating a completely new thread that talks about issues from and even quotes from the Raiden is evil thread, but no-one is bothered since it's not a n00b doing it I'm sorry I didn't read the part on the site where it says people who have many visits are immune from this sort of thing.

thanks for the offer but I don't want to be immune just like I don't want anyone else to be, if someone creates a pointless thread they should be told off just like everyone else does.

Well, what Tgrant is doing is a bit different. His thread will not only cover new ground because is has a more broader subject area, but will hinder a lot of the waves of un-needed Raiden threads. If someone has an idea, they'll be able to post it in his thread instead of having to make a new one. It's keep the discussion under control, without buring old threads.

Well, if it makes you feel any better I could make a joke topic on the Raiden threads.

What would stop them from using the Raiden is Evil thread in the same way before Tgrants was even created, people are expressing their theories in that thread already.

I think Tgrant's thread is way different, them all the other threads. I think his thread is more about poeple opinions of his theory, and not describing how "awesome, cool, dark...etc" Raiden is.

Whoa...chill out there for a sec...I kno its Raiden and all but people dont have to keep making the same threads that have already been answered in previous ones

Well, if you're referring to the same thread I'm thinking of, it was a rather shallow topic. All the topic-maker said was "He's either evil or a vampire," without really supporting his statement properly. Those threads never really achieve a great deal of depth.

Tgrant's thread proposes another theory, then invites other theories. This formula works well usually. People will comment on his theory, others will post their own, people will disagree/agree with those theories, it will turn into a nice healthy thread.

I'm agreeing, somewhat. It's nothing if people want to talk about his outfit, story, weapon, measurements, favorite pasta, whatever. One single thread for Raiden entirely isn't that good of an idea considering how clouded up it can get with too many aspects.

However, it IS a problem if the same topic is made more than once, such as "Raiden's outfit" and "Raiden's appearance". Same damn thing, and if something like this is seen on the forum from this point on, these copy threads will be closed based on whatever thread I feel deserves to be left open, be it occured first or has more attention.

I hope it's not too much to ask for people to look for a thread discussing what they want to before making a copy.
