Smoke could remain a cyborg, and he might fight sektor. Sektor beats him and reprograms him to be his assassin in the Tekunin. He programs smoke to get rid of sektor's worst fear, Sub-Zero. Sektor upgrades all of his armor and gives him a three pronged spear. He adds missiles to his arsenal also. Smokes mission is to hunt down and kill sub-zero.

In my opinion i don't really see smoke as being a good guy because he looks so evil in his silver armor. His helmet alone makes him look evil. The only way he could possibly be good is in human form. I have another idea but i think you guys might think it's stupid.

The dragon king makes smoke a deal, in order for him to escape his cybernetic body he must serve the dragon king as an undead ninja that hunts down and kills anyone that is a threat to the dragon king. He brings smoke back kind of like a ninja spectre like scorpion, but with new revamped moves.
