Storyline in Arcade mode:
So here's the idea: Say you pick Sub-Zero in Arcade mode. Sub-Zero is good, so your opponents will be predominantly evil.
So you get to your tower...and it's something like this:
Boss: Dragon King
Sub-Boss: Chimera
Rival Character 1: Quan Chi
Rival Character 2: Sektor
Storyline character 1: Frost
Storyline Character 2: Sareena
Storyline character 3:Scorpion
Evil character:Dairou
Evil Character:Kira
Evil Character:Tanya
Evil Character:Noob Saibot
So the first four or five characters would just be generic fights with someone of the opposite alignment. The last four or five would be characters your character is involved with in a storyline. The way you defeat them (Fatality, or not) would determine your ending.
I got this idea from playing SC2 and how your rival is always the battle you fight right before Inferno. Why not expand that concept to include the whole game? Just an idea.
Ok, maybe I went a little far, but I think that each tower should be predominantly of the other alignment, and that you should fight a rival character before the Sub-Boss. It just seemed anti-climactic when I'd turn on MK1 and Scorpion would be my first fight.

Well such a thing was touched on in other threads recently and it's a great idea and hardly impossible.
It would require an extra mode though to go with the current arcade mode and liek wanderer said in stronger terms, they probably won't bother.
In the future though it would be great as an unlockable mode, accompanied with storytold FMVs.

That would be a cool addition, even if it were just the fight before the sub-boss, just to add that extra playability to the story mode.
