Stryker was strange. He was really independent in the whole MK3 series, so that made him have sort of a clean slate for storyline expansion. He could've joined the Special Forces, he could've stayed out of the tournament forever, he could've even been captured and taken prisoner and cast a spell upon! Who knows! Stryker would be nice to see again with an updated story.
This makes me really happy to see.
I thought I was his only fan, lol. You all bring up really great points; Stryker does have a lot of potential and the MK team would be mad not to use it.
I think it would be cool if Stryker was to sort of hide away from the world, tormented from the horrors he saw in Outworld's invasion. Millions of people being cut down by legions of extermination squads, being burnt alive.
Seriously, imagine how fucked that would be (excuse my language, but that is the only way to describe it). To be honest, Stryker had it the toughest of all the MK warriors. He was the leader of the riot policemen, and he couldn't do shit to stop everybody being slaughtered. He failed his city and failed himself. THAT is torment.
So anyway, Stryker hides away from the world, even though it is the same as before the invasion. He saw the whole thing, whereas everybody else is continuing on with their lives.
This is too much for him. Since the conclusion of MK3, he has been training himself in martial arts so he can prepare himself for a second invasion, resting on the brink of insanity. He is mentally ill, and it is so strong that he needs somebody with supernatural abilities to rid him of his memories. Returning to outworld is the only way it can be done.
Well, hope you enjoyed it. I think that would be an awesome idea for Stryker's return.

Yeah I say give him a chance at least. He was a good idea that wasn't implemented very well. I say wait until MK7 though as MK:D seems to be the Outworld warriors trying to stop the Dragon King before he gains momentum. Enough to invade all realms.

That's a great idea Bloofy, and like you say, it's likey that Stryker would go crazy. An ordinary guy who just happened to survive the invasion of Earth, and the massacre in his city. Add that to all his weapons, and Stryker would remind me a lot of Rambo. Not the Rambo in the dumb sequels, but in the first film, where he was crazy from the war.

If he does come back he should get rid of the baseball cap.

I never really felt that Stryker belonged in the MK world and I don't think he should return.

I never said that I hate Stryker. I said that I felt he never really belonged in the MK world. Gameplay wise, I liked Stryker's combo system and it was actually a lot stronger than Liu Kang's and Johnny Cage's. It's just that I don't like his concept and storyline. It felt to me that he was just given some connection to be thrown in the storyline.

A lot of people critisise Stryker for "not fitting in" with the MK series. I don't think that's right. He's the perfect character for the Earth invasion storyline, someone who ends up having to defend the Earth. In this role, he's a lot more credible than the cyborgs, who I never thought really fit in.

Maybe....but I would like to see improvements with Stryker if he were to return. However, I think that Outworld will be the setting of MK: Deception.
Only be able to use guns in his fatality or suicide. Completely new fatalities! It would take a lot to impress me; I thought that he sucked - never really met anyone who used him as a fighter or cared for him! Save a spot on the roster for Kitana or Sonya or someone with useful moves and abilities. I mean guns in Mortal Kombat is a little too far.

Of course, if he was to return, he would look different, maybe hit Jenny Craig or something.
