Because most every fan likes one or both of them, They are the series trademark characters,and their apperance keeps nonhardcore players a reason to buy the game if they can play as the series icons.

Yeah. A game without Scorpion and Sub-Zero is like a bathroom without any soap. It just wouldn't work.

I don't quite catch where you're going...

But here's the thing, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are techincally the "mascots" for MK. Of course, you're going to have them return, and it would cause a lot of fans being disappointed if both of them or one of the two were not coming back. Therefore it's perfectly knowledgeable that these two will make a return in the next game. Maybe with a different look, at different attitude, or something else different, but you wanted to know why these guys are Vets, and there is your answer. Mine might be a little too short, but at least I gave you an answer that you wanted.

The whole point is you don't see a mario game without Mario or Street fighter without Ryu or Ken so we'll hopefully never see an Mk game without Sub or scopion plus Boon said a few veterans will return not just 2 so there could be a couple more ( hopefully Ermac included)

I'm a long time fan of Scorpion and I love Sub-Zero too.
They are the mascots for the Mortal Kombat franchise.

They only thing I can think of that brings up any issue with me, between either character, is Scorpion's story line.
I beg Buddha that he gets some form of a fresh story.

If it is confirmed anywhere that Scorpion and Sub Zero are the ONLY two returning characters, please show me. I don't believe I've heard that one. I know that they are most likely going to be in but nowhere does it say, if I'm not mistaken, that they will be the ONLY two.

Sub-Zero was in ( the original MK3) unmasked, but Scorpion sat out. So, Subby has the upperhand...which means he sould be the top veteran. But I still see what your saying. I believe the vets are the characters from MK1!

There doesn't need to be proof of anything that these two WON'T return. Name one game (Besides MK3 because I know why Scropion wasn't in it) that doesn't have Sub-Zero or Scorpion.

You see, you're argument isn't going to go anywhere becasue people know right off the bats that these two are making a return. Whether or not there's proof. I'm pretty sure if you asked several people around here if they're making a return, chances of them saying yes is very high.

We all know that Sub-Zero and Scorpion are returning without your proof or whatever. Ed Boon said it himself several times, that they are returning in most of his early interviews he had. So enough about these two, ok?! maybe talk about other 'Vets", that you want to return. For example....Raiden, Sonya, Kano, Johnny Cage and Liu Kang(prefferably not tho), etc. Your choice tho!

Obviously you didn't read the title of this thread. We're suppose to be talking about Scorpion and Sub-Zero because the creator wanted to know why they are Veterans.

And obviously you took my words and said them to me, when I obviously know that Ed Boon has said that before in previous interviews.

And no, let's not talk about the others that should return.

Getting back to MK's topic....

Ok let me level it down. Raiden has alot more that can be done, Ermac is still just a shadow as well as chemeleon. Rain said he'ed be back(in MKA conquest mode) Frost is running around somwhere and Taven is now a god and alot of people want to see how he unfolds as one.
