Boon said it in an interview awhile back. He stated something like besides the 24 characters on the main screen, there will be even MORE characters, so-called super unlockables. Now I've heard that there's some loser character named Mystery, and I am hoping that either I'm either really really fuckin high right now or I'm dreaming, cuz one, that's the most horrible name I've heard in MK for a character, and two, it's only one super unlockable, which is not what he said.

*MYSTERY* is the iGUIDE name for Liu Kang. He and Raiden's bio and moves are not available on the disk without unlocking it. Thats all. There is no mention of the super-unlockables on the iGUIDe, nor should there be. Midway stated that they are purposely leaving out certain secrets from the guides so that all the surprises are spoiled.

Boon didn't actually say there would be more PLAYABLE characters, he just said there would be more characters. He could have been talking about the characters in Konquest mode.

Mystery wont be the charactes actual name, its just their way of still keeping some things secret. Becasue Raiden adn Liu Kang dont appear in the guide doesnt mean they are super unlockable, they jsut dont want us knowing anyhting yet. there will be more super unlockable. I bet on 3.
