Considering that Outworld is filled with dark magic, Superman would really be in trouble.
But now consider this: All we really knpw about how Outworld's sun differs from Earth's is that it has no effect on Nitara or other vampires. Superman would probably be left powerless.

it would be interesting that the stages will have more effect on the fighters like that.
So it would be a good idea if There was a disadvantage for Superman if he fought on a Outworld stage.

Yeah, that would be great! I mean, it's not like you ever hear people talk about wanting to play a balanced game. Pffsshhh, what-evarrr!

That would be cool. Shao Kahn could kick his ass in his throne room! Whooo!

Thought about this before. Superman wouldn't be THAT powerless in Outworld, because Outworld's gravity cannot be as strong as Krypton's was. If it was, the Earth warriors would have been crushed by super-gravitational forces the second they set foot in Outworld. In addition to the gravity issue, the Outworld warriors lack Superman's dense molecular structure; or else they would be granted super-powers such as heat and x-ray vision as well as invulnerability and bullet-proofness as soon as they entered the Earth realm.

I think the point being made here is that Kryptonians are powered by a yellow sun, which Outworld presumably lacks.
A weakness more tangible than the ill conceived abstract concept that Superman is somehow weakened by the mere presence of magic...

A different colored sun would make Outworld's sky look different.
"Ahh, but Outworld's sky IS a different color", you say? That's true. It's red and orange in the Portal and Kombat Tomb, and purple (with orange clouds) in the Wastelands, Kahn's Arena, and Kuatan Palace.
However, you also have the Evil Tower, The Pit II, the Sarna Ruins, the grounds of Shang Tsung's MKDA Palace, the Outworld half of Yin Yang Island, and Dragon Mountain.
Which are all, presumably, far above or away from the red clouds the portal creates, and whatever magical pollution Shao Kahn's evil has thrown into the sky. In those places, the sky is as clear blue (or black at night) as it is on Earth.
It's also kinda yellow on the Dragonfly stage...but there, it's flying over a barren desert/mountain region where there's probably a lot of sand and dust in the air.
I guess what I'm saying is, there's no proof Outworld doesn't have a yellow sun.

A good enough explanation for Superman being weakened, but not totally powerless. Better than nonsensical exaggerations of magic as pseudo-Kryptonite.

The presence of magic does not automatically weaken Superman, unless there is a specific spell to so present. It's been established that Superman is vulnerable to magic attacks in the same way that Batman is vulnerable to gun fire. That doesn't mean that Batman can't handle anyone with a gun.

How long it takes for him to weaken while exposed to red sunlight varies from writer to writer.
Sometimes it immediately cuts him off from his powers, and they return immediately once he's back under yellow sunlight, whereas other times, it's a gradual effect.
It should also be noted that under a blue sun, his powers increase and he starts spontaneously developing new ones as well.

Ahh, but you see that's "why" it would be balanced, Superman wouldn't be as powerful in Outworld..he might have some powers left kind of like Raiden in a way(he loses them all together eventually if in OW) in Supes case I think he should be at half power or a 3rd since there is afterall no yellow sun....

I believe the reason it would be imbalanced is because not every stage can be Outworld, so Superman would be more powerful on certain backgrounds than others, which would be a pain in the ass.
And besides, like I said above, Outworld appears to have a yellow sun.
And besides, like I said above, Outworld appears to have a yellow sun.
Even if it's a yellow sun in outworld, it still could have a different effect on Superman since it's from a different realm. Just like mentioned in the first post, Outworld's sun has no effect on vampires like Nitara, so it might not fuel Superman with power like other suns.
Which means once the realms start to merge, Superman would be running on battery powers, because simply put, Superman is one big solar cell. And everytime he'd use his powers, he'd get gradually weaker.

OW doesn't have a yellow sun.....why do you think this? lol he'll play the same in the whole game because it would be dumb to have Superman play differently in different stages, but Boon already covered this with the merge "making some MK guys more powerful and DC guys in Supes case weaker" which we all know wouldn't happen in their own universes.....
Currently there's no "Yellow Sun" in OW or other realms for that matter except for Earthrealm. The only way it'll happen is if the merge storyline wise "creates some kind of Yellow Sun similar to Earthrealms" but not exactly like it, otherwise there is NO Yellow Sun in OW...

I already stated why I believe Outworld's sun is yellow. The color of the sun would affect the color of the sky, and there are several locations in Outworld where the sky is blue just like it is on Earth.
The only places where they sky isn't blue, it's because some magic is affecting the clouds and atmosphere, such as the portal or proximity to Shao Kahn's fortress.
You can see this most prominently with the Tower from MK2 and especially the Shaolin Monks version, where at the bottom, the sky is red because of the nearness of the portals, but once you get to the top, the sky is blue and the clouds are white because you're above the atmosphere-changing effects of the magic.
And besides, Earth's sun is far from the only yellow star in the universe. Suns only come in four colors: red, yellow, blue, and white. That's just plain science.

Ohh, I see...so in other words you're pretty much speculating here...but I don't see that. I see more "mixed" colors in OW, red, orangy and dark..most of the time that dark purpleish color. There is touches of Blue I agree with that, but I just don't see a Yellow Sun anywhere.
I'm also just FTR going based on not only the games that have shown OW stages but the movies, TV shows, cartoons etc and more times then not it's purpleish, dark and just dark overall lol.
MK:SM is does look a little lighter but kind of like a mixed color, the portals create that weird color sometimes too but that's also the only game that even shows some brighter colors. On the Sun bit, that's true on the color thing but also true that in MK's world most stages don't have a Yellow Sun, Red, Moons etc but not an actual "Yellow Sun" that we've seen as obvious as Earth. But just want to make a point here, even if say there's a Yellow Sun in an MK world or a White Sun whatever...it might effect characters like Superman differently then the "Earth Sun", remember this is a different world so why not a different kind of Sun as well? There's also the case of a say "a smaller Yellow Sun or Red sun" perhaps not as powerful as Earth/Earthrealm's sun so it can work differently.
I won't be surprised if Boon/Midway/DC decide to have a Yellow Sun in some MK realms that normally wouldn't have it since both series are literally "merging" so they can always write it into the storyline if they want a Yellow Sun in the MK worlds/realms.

... Just to remind everyone -- Sub-Zero can freeze shit whenever he likes.
Characters with powers are nothing new to MK. In-game compromises don't always need forced explanations. Raiden doesn't transform into a mortal for every game.
