what would it be like if mortal kombat pulled a similar secret character manuver a la soul caliber II and incorporated a certain character into deception?

for those who are unfamilier, when soul caliber II(3-d fighter with weapons) was released on multiple systems, each system got a character the others didn't ex: gamecube got link xbox got spawn.

if mortal kombat did that, would it piss people off? i think mortal kombat is too much of a story driven franchise to introduce a foreginer from another game (like a character from another fighting game)...but if the character introduced was just a random secret character midway created for mortal kombat that might be cool...give xbox owners mokap II and ps2 will get blaze II (hehehehehe)
