People keep pointing out that Nitara, and Cyrax are in the Netherrealm "talking" to each other. They're across from the chest by Moloch, in the unacessable til done Konquest area. Apparently if you open the chest, they disappear. I went through Konquest without opening any chests, to see if they'd still be there when I do get acess to that area. They were not. I didn't think anyone tried this.
The first part is just ranting, because everything now seems to be a fucking spoiler. Hence, bad sarcasm. Plus people think the Konquest character models are StfU's.

Okay, yeah it is annoying how everyone is talking about Super Unlockables but they haven't yet gotten any proof of how to unlock them (if they even exist).

Yeah. I already made a few posts on doing this. I beat Konquest the first time - Moloch Chest opened. Cyrax/Nitara? Not there. Of course.
The second time I went through and did not open the Moloch Chest. I constantly checked back in the Netherrealm every chance I could get (between moving the storyline) and they were always there. Once Konquest was over I ran over to Netherrealm. Gone of course.
The 3rd time I went through in about 2 hours and didn't open any chests. At all. There was a theory about this. It didn't work either.
I don't think you can talk to the two. Like you said - maybe just there for story purposes but I tend not to believe that. Besides them there hasn't been a character in Konquest mode who was visible but couldn't be spoken to just to show storyline from previous games. Plus what's the point of them disapearing if you open the chest? Makes no sense.
