If she is in the game, then I have to say that I'm not overly thrilled. Her story didn't seem to have multiple game potential, but if they can bring her back with better moves and a better story, perhaps a revamped appearance (I always thought that she looked rather plain) then I'd be okay with having her back.

Having said that, it basically looks like I want a completely new character lol. So yeah, I guess I probably wouldn't be in favor of her coming back. Still, I'll be interested to see what Boon and Co come up with for her, if she's actually in the game.

Tanya had deceived Liu Kang in her ending. So if she's back then she's gonna be doing some major deceiving. But I'm not too crazy about her coming back. I have to see/play as her first and then judge. Nowadays they can bring back the crappiest character ever and make him/her kool somehow.

I have also been told by several sources that Tanya returns. I hope she does as she was a fave character of mine. Given her MK4 storyline, I think she has the potential to go a littlle further than some other chracters. She is a great character and was excellent in game.

What do u mean no multi-game story potential? She screwed over Liu Kang for crying out loud. No if that isn't a story that they could be bring back up, i dont know what is.

Actually that didn't happen because he wouldn't have had to be killed by shang tsung and quan chi if she actually decieved him. I don't really want herback in the game but hey thats just my opinion mabye they could make her good.... i did like some of her mk4 moves though.

I never liked Tanya to begin with...she wsa just a...such an average filler characer. She wasn't interesting at all. I'd much rather prefer to have Jade back, and in Jade's story, make it clear that she hunted down and killed Tanya for betraying Edenia.
As for 'Anonymous sources' that many people on the forums claim to have, I absolutely do not beleive any of that, until I see it in a magazine or as official news on this website. Then I will completely acknowledge those people who claim to have there sources and plant my own foot firmly in my mouth. Until then, I don't beleive anyone on the forum who claims to have sources...unless I see it as an official screenshot or news item.

If this turns out to be true and chances are it WON'T! I would be happy. Next to subby (because he is always first) Tanya was the best in MK4. IMO. I like her and she is in my top 5 of fave. characters. So ya, it would be kool. But honestly I don't see it happending.

I'm not to joyed about the fact of tanya returning. Her story was boring IMO, plain simple and not interesting, i felt as if she was to non-original. Anyways, her moves were pretty cool in MK4, and i think shes better than li mei. Hopefully her story will get developed and change.

I tough she was damn great in MK4. Sure, her look wasn't that original but who cares. If she does return then that's great.

I refuse to have any filler charcter or generic fighter to ever come back to MK. there is only 10 classic fighters and that isnt too much.

and if one of the classics were tanya, out of all ppl, thats means she came in for a classic which is extemely bad. She could have came in for reptile, JADE, smoke, khan LOL(yea right),kitana, or some other classic fighter that can kick her ass. Jade should kill tanya, and the only ppl that should be killed off in MK and never come back, is the generics and fillers. that way ppl can REALLY die in MK, and no fans would want them back and they can actually die for good this time.

styker,kameleon,dramin,any mid booses that were not playable or non balanced(shokans,centuars,oni)hsu hoe,LOL,bo rai cho,li mei ANDA everybody that was NEW in MK4, except fujin, and quan chi, should die and never come back.

EVERYBODY IN mk1,2 and 3 SHOULD NEVER DIE, and if they do , do the usual MK come back to life.

i say keep everybody from MK1 to 3 plus quan chi and fujin, MINUS styker and mid bosses,and that equals the best cast of characters and all the fighters very in the history of MK, put all of those back in mk7 at least, then the mk8 and newer games could focus on NEW characters and storys, but first bring back the ppl we want, then focus on those new ppl. MK game will never be old, even if you have every fighter in mk history to be playable, b/c there is always new fighters and not the fill ins.

I really liked Tanya in MK4/MKG. She looked great and had nice moves (though the costume was a little generic).

And she's not a rip-off. She's a re-color of Kitana's original, And not used, model.

Tanya, she was an okay character. I'd rather have Jade over her, but if she returns with some new moves and a new weapon i'm cool with it.

The only characters that were fillers were the ninjas.

Smoke, Reptile, Rain, noob Saibot and Ermac were all fillers when they were first put into Mortal Kombat.

Jade was also a filler when she first appeared.

Now most of the fillers came back with original stories and cool looks.

I like Tanya, she looked ok and had good moves. They should put her in instead of Kitana. Li Mei, Mileena, Sindel, Ashra and Tanya would make a decent female lineup.

I hope Tanya and Li Mei return.

What is really a "filler" character? A character that doesn't contribute anything to history, or the new fighters of MK4 & MKDA, so that any previous fighter is "better"?

Tanya had a good history, first she betrayed Edenia and she made enter the army of Shinnok, and in her ending she deceived Liu Kang. She wasn't a "filler" character, so that the MKTeam decided that there were too many known characters, and put off Kitana and put in her place to Tanya.

And the same with other "filler" characters, as Li Mei or Hsu Hao. Li Mei doesn't have an exciting history, but potential argumental has much, although people only see in her that she takes Sais and that the color of her clothes is violet and it sees it as "rip-off" of Mileena and that is not certain, as fighters like Mavado, Kenshi, Jarek, Shinnok, Tanya and Frost are not "rip-off" either. Only "rip-off" has been Reptile (MK1), Jade (MK2) and Smoke (Ninja).
And Hsu Hao has a very important argument, so that it causes that Jax returns to have an argument, thing that except in the MK2, it did not have, like characters like Sonya (that in the MKDA either nor has the repetitive argument to persecute to the Black Dragon, directly don't have argument), Cage (I'm an real fighting superstar...), Raiden (now I am God, now I am mortal, now I am God, now I am mortal...), Kitana (I kill Mileena, I flee and I kill Mileena, I flee and I kill Mileena... and in the MKDA, they kill me to my love and to my ally and the only thing that I do is to bury them(Liu Kang in her memory)).

They can contribute more or less in history (or anything like Reiko), but you must let eternally compare the new fighters with the "classic ones", and make the valuation in his second appearance (like in the MKDeception, that we will be able to do it to Nightwolf, Sindel, Kenshi, Kabal, Ermac... and if also they appeared, Kai, Reiko, Tanya, Li Mei, Hsu Hao, Bo' Rai Cho, Drahmin, Nitara, Frost, Mavado, Rain, CyberSmoke & Stryker)

The only fighters who in his second appearance have not improved or have been worse, have been Smoke Ninja (that continued being "rip-off" of Scorpion) and Shinnok (that in the MK4 displeased it totally).

Well, I didn't like much in the MK4, and I think that perhaps Tanya isn't the most appropriate fighter for the MKDeception (since its well-known argument is to deceive the good ones), but if the MKTeam decides to put it, it will be so that they will have done good storyline, and I will be glad... if this in the MKD I will be contented and I give one second opportunity to Tanya, although know clearly that I willn't cry if not this in the MKD.

I think Deception should be a chance for Midway to rehash some of their characters. Re-introducing Tanya as either a good guy, or a bad guy could really play a good part in the story (Maybe even neutral?).

if I find that Tanya has replaced Kitana in another Mortal Kombat game, I'll do the same thing that I did with MK4. I didn't bother playing it. I'll wait for them to bring her back in Mortal Kombat Deception Gold - lol

You wouldn't play MK because they didn't add one of your favorite characters?Man if that was the case I would have never played MK3 since they left Scorpion out of it.But the game was still cool and I played it as much as I could.I know everyone on this forum isn't happy that at lease on of their favorite characters didn't make this game but thats still no reason not to play.

First Kenshi / Ermac, then Mileena / Li Mei, now this. DA is just filling up with pointless characters.

One, her ending didn't happen, lest Shinnok would have won, and Liu Kang would not have been able to die at the beginning of DA, thus, she decieved no one.

Two, so she betrayed Edenia, so what? It obviously didn't work, since Shinnok lost, so either she's on the run, or she turned to the good guys, which I doubt since why should they trust her.

Three, she's just not that interesting a character. From a design standpoint, just another MK female ninja, not spectacular or unique moves, fatalities or outfits. Even after they created her, they realized how LAME she was and brought back Kitana anyways.

I don't like Jade that much, but she'd be a HUNDRED times better than Tanya, if only because she has the tie to Kitana / Sindel and Reptile (Dragon King). She's already got a weapon form, the staff from UMK.

The only reason I disliked Tanya was because she replaced Kitana in MK4. If she becomes a character in her own right, I probably won't dislike her.

Why are you referring to Kenshi/Ermac and Mileena/Li Mei as pointless characters? I don't know if you know what you're saying. And Tanya wasn't pointless. She was as to Shinnok as Mileena was to Shao Kahn. And yes she did do some deceiving. Her whole story was about her deceiving Edenia and letting Shinnok and Quan Chi in. Then she "joined" Earthrealm in the fight against Shinnok. Just that is decpetion, you don't need to have someone die to have her story exist. She may not have killed Liu Kang, he might have figured it out and defeated her, then she ran away into the outskirts of Outworld.

Tanya probably has more of a story going than Scorpion right now.

I just hope that tanya and frost are in MKD

Tanya was a ok character but she needs a major make over !! lol id like to see something going on with tanya and jade since kitana has millena to deal with jade vs tanya would be great !!
im thinking what weapon they should give tanya if shes in it , hmmmm Cyclone blades would be cool for her .
