We originally put our money on both August 16th, then the following August 23rd as the forthcoming release date for T5DR ONLINE in the US... Sadly it is not coming out this week! But it is coming, SOON! Namco Bandai Games Inc. is working on some quality issues with the title for American gamers and while there is no concrete date, it is soon. How soon? “Within the next couple of weeks...” as told to us by Namco from their Online Gaming media event which happened earlier tonight. So there you have it folks! Release date for USA is to be announced. But be rest assured the wait is ALMOST over!

Namco implemented a system where your account can get banned after so many disconnects. After a hard reboot from a room yesterday, I had a big pop up message warning me about this. The Tekken community is very different compare to MK. Most of the people are very mature.


I got the news from SDTEKKEN.COM that the official release date for TEKKEN 5 DR ONLINE US release is 8/30/2007. It has been confirmed.

Finally! I'm still debating on whether to get a PS3 now and Tekken 5: DR online now or just wait till X-mas or something. Then again, my b-day's in two weeks. Maybe I'll get lucky.

HJS, it depends where you live if you want to get the updated version "legitemately" I guess. The US version will probably be out at end of this month. I have no idea when the Europeans get it. Either way, people have created their PSN accounts in such a way that makes the PS3 version think you live in Japan, and then you can actually log on the Japanese server and pay and download the game from there. Jade-OWN told me Namco released a patch prohibiting this a week ago.

Tekken 5: DR is balanced but Lili is one of those characters you probably would not use in competitive matches. I think everybody except Lili, Dragunov, Armor King, Bruce, and a few others are used in high level game play.

About Lili - I get what you're saying. She has really crappy lows, and she can be sidestepped easily. But the good thing, for me, is that she's quite easy to use. And as a beginner I think she's a good charcter to start with, simple, and fun.



About the tier list - wow. I always thought Anna was strong but I never knew how much. And people have told me Lei was one of the weakest.... also a suprise.

So can you recommend me another charcter to use. I play Ganryu quite alot well but I have some problems with him?

Yes, Lei is a lot better in DR. He has some nice mix ups and a good throw in u/f+1+2 but he still lacks damage. His juggles are below average compared to most in DR.

Anna is very good in DR. A lot better than Nina.

Use Ganryu, then. He's very good. His d/f+2 is the best in the game - it is safe, juggles (even crouchers), and has decent range. Some other of his most useful moves are:

d/f+3

d/f+4

d/f+1,4

One of the bad things about Ganryu is that his jab is 12 frames, slowest from any other character in the game. Search Metador (I think) on youtube.com. He's Japanese I believe and has the best Ganryu in the world.

Lei Wulong seems to be just perfect for how i play. i cant wait.

I doubt any Anna could stand up to my Nina only time will tell when I start playing it, but my Nina can surely take down some Kazuya chars and Steve also. and another char I know can take a Steve down too I noticed, but I'll keep that a secret and its one of my chars I use too. Anyways what about the chars I use anything best on news of that?

Hehe you're cute but Anna really is better than Nina in DR. Nina was so amazing in Tekken 5.0 that she got toned down in DR.

1. Lee is probably mid tier (mid high at best) in DR. He has some awesome punishing moves but lacks serious frame advantage on block as well as mix ups. It's hard to create a serious offense with Lee because most of his low attacks are very punishable.

2 and 3: Asuka and Hwoarang are probably both mid low tier.

4. I've already explained how Nina is in DR.

5. I seriously don't know anything about Roger.

6. Devil Jin is probably the best character when used at the highest level of play. His damage is off the charts. Easy 50%+ of damage after every EWGF you land. His Hellsweeps is the by far the best low attack in the game because it gives you 40%+ of damage and it can NOT be seen coming from a wave dash. Devil Jin is simply too good. From a theoretical stand point, he is only rivaled by Heihachi.

7. Regular Jin is mid tier at best. There is absolutely no reason to pick him, though, when you have Devil Jin. Jin has no launching EWGF, his Hellsweeps are slower and do less damage compared to Devil Jin's, etc. Jin has some nice pokes (i.e. 2,1, d/f+1, d/f+1,4) but that is it.

8. Mokujin simply mimicks other characters BUT the moves he mimicks can have different properties because of his size. Sometimes those properties are good; sometimes they are bad. It depends.

Dan, yes, everyone can win in DR but it's a lot easier to win with the top tiers compared to the lower ones as in MK:A.

Thats why I love mokojin for one... he 50/50 baby heehee thats like he can screw you up or can run into your favor, but lee on bad offense? Ph goody i guess I'll have to figure him out on a good standard point! , DevilJins hellsweeps i know they can do some off the wall stuff after all thats one of teh chars sometimes kills my cousin chars ^.^ Pssh far as I see it forget brian and King heehee when you got some major stuff of back up.
