i agree ed and his staff have done a great job with this one they have gone all out and i hope they keep the series alive as they have many many thousands of loyal followers and i 2 have purchased every MK (except game boy versions cuz lets face it game boys suck) and i have also pre ordered my copy of the premium pack

Robbie11729, why can't I comment before the game comes out? I wasn't disappointed with Deadly Alliance. In fact I think it was a great game. It still is in my opinion. There are not many games out right now that look that good or play that well. Now with the addition of new modes and online features, Deception is making a great game even better.
How do I know that Deception will be great? Well, it's Mortal Kombat. People go nuts over MK. Any chance to get more of the MK story is a plus. Hell, i'm pleased with just seeing all of the new characters that they've added to the world of MK. It's just interesting stuff all around. Thats why I love gaming so much. It's a way for me to play the story. You don't get that in books, or movies.
Why do you think people are so disappointed when they find out that there are no more secrets left? Because they want more. You can never get enough Mortal Kombat.
So what about gameplay. I'm sure someone can find something wrong with every game out there. That's inevitable. But you can't knock the MK series, or Boon. They've done a great job. Taking MK into the 3D realm. The graphics are tight. The gameplay is fast.....and deadly.
I'm just thankful that MK exists. Because you can't kill someone in real life. (legally, lol).

i'm glad you picked up on that first of all, and second your statement where you say not many games look as good as MK. I just have one question for you. Have you ever played Soul Caliber or Virtual Fighter? Hell have you played Dead or Alive? MK is barely on par, if that as far as graphics go. At least Soul Caliber and VF have somewhat believable characters...
and MK has failed before...look at special forces. The game was crap period. Mythologies had a story going for it, but the control was crap. And MK4's story was basically non-existant. DA was a decent fighter, but no where near the quality MK had with MK2

I agree with ya completely. This game does look like it's gonna be a fun game, BUT I don't want a MK:DA with add on's. From the looks of it the fighting engine remains the same. At the moment I don't know exactly how I'll be reacting to this, I'll just have to play the game then and only then can I really come to a decision about the game.

Its about time someone made a thread about this. All the threads about Midway are bad. "They Suck". And I dont know a about u guys but DA was a great game. The only thing I didnt like was the 1 Fatality and the invisible boundry to the backrounds and they fix both those things in Deception. Deception is a gonna be great, I dont even have to play it.

I wouldn't of used Virtua Fighter as a good looking game example, it was a good Fighting game, but could have done better in graphics.

Uh, let me get this straight. The developers, of a widely distrabuted game and entertainment medium, should NOT listen to fans who voice out? They should NOT listen to what their fans want? They should NOT try and produce a better product. They should NOT strive for betterment every second of the development cycle?
I'm really, really getting tired of this fanboy banter. Firstly, if a game designer has to have a self esteem check whenever someone slams on their game, then they shouldn't be making games. That's what the consumer does. They see something, the don't like it, they voice out against it. It's a fucking constitutional right, actually.
Secondly, saying "No, dev team, don't listen to your fans..." is idiotic. They listened quite intently what we had to say about DA and certain things were fixed or added - I have yet to see proper gameplay -_-. However, when you say "don't listen" what you're actually saying is that you, your self, can't handle the criticizm; not the dev team. At least, that's the vibe I get. Meh....

I agree with you Satyagraha 100%.
I do feel that sometime after deception they deserve a thank you thread but only after people played it. I mean I do thank them for making another game and adding more to it but I also do feel that they should of possible waiting some more to improve the game on many levels but maybe for the next game they will.

I don't think this tread is necessary but it is a good idea to give a little thanks instead of all of you little people complaining about every single detail. It is a videogame, which probably takes a shit load of work, and some people don't thank anyone for their entertainment. I'm thankful, I also feel like I'm sayin grace at a Thanksgiving table, so ill stfucku.
