The beging of Mortal Kombat as we know it, as MK6?

well, i mentioned this in another topic, and i thought it was good enough to have its own grin . How would you like a pre MK1 game with the original Kung Lao, and it could be about Shang Stung's rise to power. It could also fill a lot of the holes in the Mk story that people wonder about, i also think it would sell pretty good. The only problem i see is most would rather see Mk6, and not this first, so my second question would be would you mind if another group worked on it under the super vision of some one that new a lot about mk, or would it have to be worked on by the original team for it to truely be an MK game?
P.S. i debated on which forum to put this under and i decided if it was made now it would be mk6 so i put it here. EDIT:i chaged the title so its more descriptive.

I think that would be awesome. I would also like to have Pre MK1 games about Shao Kahn and other characters.

If the main reason to make the games was to fix the story line, I think it would be a great idea!

Well the storyline is certainly beyond repair at this point, but it would be really cool to see an MK prequel.

Shang Tsung, Goro, Raiden, original Kung Lao, King Jarrod, Shao Kahn, Dragon King, etc. there's a lot of different directions they could go with it. I'd like to see it happen.

i think people would rather see mk6...then after that? well if anothers going to be made i think people would rather see mk7...no telling what the hells gonna happen after that.

id actully like to see it, but i cant see it happening.
though since mk1 was in 2d, wouldnt it make sense to have a 'prequel' in 2d? and if this were the case, could it be a small added feature in mk6? with maybe 8 characters, 1 fatality ect, maybe a couple secrets or something. that seems more realistic to me, than making a whole full on mkda style game out of it.

Im not stealling your idea, you said with the original fighters in the game, with the original sub zero ect, im talking about 500 years before that, before sub zero, before Lui Kang, or any one from the first game except maybe Raiden.

Back to the topic though i think it could have several fighters linked to mkda, like one of Kenshi's ancestors, maybe Blaze(depending on how long he was imprissoned), and possibly a portal guard, just some character ideas,

I think that sandspider's idea is very nice. Go back to the past and make all of the connections that are so ambiguos in MK today.

But taking krackerjack's thought's into consideration, I think it would be best to have this as a side game/story. Kind of how MK4 and MKM:SZ were so close that not many people can straighten out which came first. I think you should be able to buy both within a few months of each other and a while after MK6, be able to buy them together as a bundle.

i think it would still be a prequal for mk1 because a few fighters of the first mk have allready a past in that story. You would have caracters like Rayden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, Goro and a few others.

But I still like the idea. And they could do it in 3d, just because it takes place before the original mk doesn't mean it can not be done in 3d.

But i would still let midway do it, they know the most things about it and have the best expirience in MK.
